i know, i disagree with what he did, what he did was wrong but we're talking about in a general sense :poot:

I said "you can't just pick and choose who comes in" and you said "yes you can"

You can't pick or choose who comes in. You can only get people to leave if they are causing harm or being disruptive. You're just talking in circles, this is getting silly :emma:

Don't you understand that this is exactly the point the owner is making? How ridiculous does it look to refuse to someone based on their beliefs? Precisely. It looks extremely ridiculous, and it happens all the time to gay people.

I don't know which case you're talking about, but one of the instances of this discrimination is still ongoing and won't be tried until December:

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/supreme-court-to-hear-colorado-same-sex-wedding-cake-case-in-december

There is no federal law protecting LGBT from discrimination, only state law.

If everyone isn't protected from discrimination, then why should anyone be?

So, what you're telling me is that the owner is mad that gay people are treated badly, so he is going to treat other people badly to prove his point. You can't strip people of their rights to prove a point :emma:

AFTER they have entered and done something wrong. You can't pick and choose who comes in based on their beliefs

Muslims marginalize minorities, too, and so do religious Jews :emma:

I know, but that's also why I said that white Christians are largely the ones who marginalize other groups. I do recognize other religions marginalize minorities too; however, other religions other than Christianity are really also considered the "minority".

But does it matter ? :rip: there were several Muslims who were homophobic to me even if their religion is a minority in my country.

I'm not saying that it matters, necessarily. I'm just stating the fact that they are minorities too. That's, again, why I said that white Christians are largely, responsible for marginalizing other minority groups. I'm not denying the fact that other minorities bully other minorities.

do you understand that the reverse has happened to gay people dozens of times before? the owner doing this is likely trying to show christians how it feels to be denied services for one's beliefs, which has happened to LGBT people at bakeries.

So now its ok to stoop to their level though? Who even knows if these christians are homophbic or not, there are plenty of both. I don't think you should be trying to get revenge on these people for something that they may not have done based on the actions that other people did.

Hands up to the sky, I'm about to fly!

You can kick someone out if what they’re doing/their presence is against your religious or anti-religious beliefs

Christians have been defending their right to do so forever. This is a taste of their own medicine.

It's against the law technically, but I find myself not giving a **** since they deserve it. Don't come into liberal, gay friends places, and just expect to be treated the same as everyone else when you're out on the street forcing your views on people about issues that deeply affect the group you surround yourself with.

If anyone needs to practice what they preach, it's these people. They can call everyone sinners and tell us we are going to hell for how we were born, but they are fine with taking service from these people at the same time. If I see a Christian owned and operated business that is reported as such, I don't go there at all because I don't want to validate those people by giving them my money. There are far too many rich christian people who take money from the people they actively fight to devalue and it needs to stop.

Like... a café is not public service. It can refuse you to do its services for ANY reason and you can do NOTHING about it.

I don't get the "What if this was the other way around" narrative some of the people here are trying to inject here. IT IS THE OTHER WAY AROUND. It always has been. Literally christian bakers in the USA FOUGHT IN LAWSUITS, stating that they are not obligated to bake or sell goods to LGBT people. "The other way around" is normalcy. :duck:

idk why gays attack christians unprovoked, like I understand if the christians are being rude and offensive about someone's sexuality, they could be asked to leave, but I am Christian and I have no problem with gays (hence my presence on this website and my gay friends) and I would be upset if someone assumed I was against their sexuality because of my religion.  Many christians are now coming to terms with gays and I hope this continues to a point where there will be no discrimination against gays by christians.

edit: but I completely understand if the christians are being offensive.

It also happened to R. Farago.
