We put in many measures to shut down demand from unqualified buyers and hardened down on downpayment requirements plus we lowered max amortization time spans Now we added forein investors tax on the 2 largest cities at 15% to cool demand We got a drop and then after that we got 2 rate hikes this year The housing market is cooling but not collpasing so far and despite cooling market our economy grew over 4% in last year one of the fastest in developed world For the rest of the year they are looking at 3% growth for 2017 as a whole if u start from January Consumer debt is at 167% of income tho and the USA peaked at 134% by comparison in 2007 so this aint good But at least incomes and employment is rising which if were lucky could offset deleveraging by consumers as interest rates go up 👀 seems like a dead cat bounce to me . But ofc in macroeconomics the timespans are so big, so who knows when will it burst. But imo sooner than later. The global political uncertanity and the massive amount of bubbles is just disturbing for me, so I feel that we are near some kind of big (bad) economic event. No wonder that new hedges are surging. I dont live in Canada, so I cant really "sense" if theres a bubble or not. But in Spain it was very obvious. Anyway, who knows what will happen. Ive chosen to start hedging Find your freedom in the music, find your jesus, find your kubrick.

Ive chosen to start hedging Oh theres a bubble alright... prices are way too high and construction has been robust for years... what i dont know is if it will pop or not Cuz not all bubbles pop and its important to keep that in mind with economics. A bubble can instead deflate and correct gradually or “soft landing” as some call it For instance if tech sector keeps growing and manufacturing and exports improving... the gains there could offset declines in construction jobs and the economy doesnt start a downward spiral if rates rise slowly and incomes keep rising ppl may be able to pay their mortgages despite their debt and higher rates So it depends on the circumstances... the bubble could burst... but it could also deflate... we will have to see!
