Obviously she is only saying that because she has a #3 album.

During the Bangerz era she was OBSESSED with the charts. They even showed it during her MTV documentary. There was a whole scene of her stressing out over whether We Can't Stop would go #1 or not.

Also, she has been promoting Younger Now way more than Demi or Shania promoted their albums. Miley was literally making multiple posts a day telling her followers to preorder the album. She clearly wanted a #1 album and is mad that she didn't get it.

I liked her attitude best during the Dead Petz era where she TRULY didn't care about charts or popularity. But I could tell with Malibu that she was back to wanting the public to like her.
