At the end of the day, Millions Reasons is probably the most critically acclaimed pop/ballad song of the past year that has actual substance. This is Gaga's strongest chance of her winning a grammy as a solo artist since TFM in my opinion. Also since Five Foot Two's release, I think a lot of general voters will understand the whole concept of 'Joanne' as a body of work - oh and Super Bowl. Ï could be your girlfriend for the weekend... Million Reasons has a good chance to get something I think I will be surprised if Joanne album is even nominated. GGD still lives between fantasy and reality, making Joanne bigger than it really is. Calling it a contender for Album of the Year is highly delusional. At the same time, it's the Grammys. The Americana sound might be something they like. It wasn't huge, but it made enough impact in the US (especially during a year when so few albums actually made any impact). It's obviously not "on lock" or anything, but is there really even that much competition? I feel like it could go either way, but I don't see how it's farfetched. I guess we'll have to wait and see though, since none of us can predict the future. Million Reasons on the other hand I totally expect to get nominations for something. What other pop album this past year released by a major artist has had longevity thus far? Apart from 'divide' by ed sheeran and 24k by bruno. It's Joanne. The main categories for AOTY, SOTY, ROTY are probably going to be a competition between Kendrick and Sheeran. The pop categories will most likely work out in gaga's favour if nominations are correctly set in place. There's no way she'll leave this era without award recognition - she's worked way too hard.
