The fact that firefighters were defending civilians from riot police and then the police started beating them. :saladga:

I'm really proud to see such people (firefighters) that stood against those riot police to protect their people. really moving.

The Spanish government should be ashamed for using such violence against innocent people trying to show their opinion by means of a peacefull referendum. If the Catalan people didn't made up their mind already, they surely did now. I don't think however that this referendum is giving a good reflection of the sentiment in Catalonia, just because pro-Spanish people surely didn't vote. Let's just hope Spain and Catalonia can make peace for things get ugly.

That last pic tho :air:

I had no idea there was such anger towards the Spanish government in Catalonia...

Well Spain doesn't want to lose any of its territory and the fact that one of its major cities (money) is in that territory makes it even more vehemently opposed to any possible independence by the people there. When I was in Barcelona in 2015 there were Catalan flags hanging on the railings of many, many apartments. It's definitely not a new feeling between either party.
