If one of your first thoughts after an attack isn't "how can we prevent this from happening again" then you're not thinking logically. This is the perfect time to be talking about solutions and prevention.

But everyone always complains that we do nothing in these situations except light candles and pray. She's got a solution that could most certainly prevent deaths and save lives. I wouldn't say it was political I think it's a matter of being a human being that wants to stop more of these horrific acts, regardless of whether what the gunner used as illegal or not, the removal of guns from stores would save lives.

It's despicable.

She obviously means we should put the divide between the right and left aside and work together to improve the society that everyone, regardless of political leaning, has to live in. The NRA's lobbying stops our leaders from enacting legislation that could save lives. It's not about politics, parties, or leanings. People are suffering and dying in attacks that could be prevented if we had competent and honest leaders that actually cared about anything other than the interest of whomever is lining their pockets.

Anyway, that's my president  Immediately up and talking about solutions and wanting to save lives in the future. I'll take that over scripted condolences from an otherwise madman any day. Besides, give it time. I'm sure Trump will say something incredibly stupid soon. He always manages to find a way.

That would be a totally empty statement though

About as useful as "#ThoughtsAndPrayers".

She set a clear goal: remove the NRA's gross and abusive influence in our government. That seems like a pretty reasonable first step to getting common sense gun control even considered at the federal level.

Left and right have different ideas of improving society

In the senate? Yeah, kind of. You don't drop millions of dollars on legislators without expecting them to pull favors for you. And wouldn't you know it? The vast majority of senators that consistently vote against any form of gun control (even universal background checks) are given money by the NRA.

Yeah, well I refuse to believe there isn't at least something the left and right can both agree on here. At least anyone on either side with a brain. Anyone on the left that wants to totally ban guns is irrational. Anyone on the right that values their ability to own a gun over the well being of their fellow American is heartless. There's a place in the middle where the two sides meet and that's where we need to be

Anyways, police didn't say what kind of weapons were used yet. Apparently he had around 10 rifles in the suite with him. There may have been an automatic weapon involved.
