Gaga Monster 13,001
The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll finds a near-universal shift in this direction, even among formerly skeptical groups, albeit with smaller gains among Republicans and Republican-leaning groups. In a Pew poll in early September 2005, shortly after Hurricane Katrina, just a quarter of Americans thought climate change likely was responsible for its severity. Two-thirds said it was more likely “just the kind of severe weather that happens from time to time.” As the storm’s impact became clear, more, 39 percent, blamed climate change just weeks later, and this moved to a near-even 45-49 percent by 2006. It’s flipped entirely in the ensuing decade: In this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates, 55 percent mainly blame climate change, vs. 41 percent happenstance. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/now-climate-change-responsible-hurricane-severity-poll/story?id=50135214 GGD Presidential Elections
Gaga Monster 13,001
Even if you don't believe climate change is man made, you still can't say climate change, the warming of the oceans, and the increase in global temperature (which are all facts, check NASA), didn't make the storms more intense. Hopefully we can come together and find solutions to cut down on greenhouse gas and switch to more environmentally friendly cars and electricity. LilMonst3r 5,681
Some people tried to tell me that they talked about this in the bible. Like Christians used Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and Jose to scare people. Plus with the earthquakes in Mexico, they went nuts saying that people need Jesus and that's why everything is happening. Other idiots tried to tell me that its a process of the earth, that it will always be melting and freezing again. They like to bring up past ice ages, yet they don't think about how it took thousands of years for the ice to melt. While the ice now days is melting at incredibly fast rates. I'm surprised a lot of people believe that climate change affected the hurricanes because there are a lot of dumb people online who just go by whatever they see on facebook... Like I can't count how many times I've heard people say the government is the ones who created these recent hurricanes. Talking about how the government has weather changing Machines, they learned that from a fake viral video just like when they though cabbages were actually made of wax, Making conspiracies to a video of a wax artist somewhere in Asia. People online can be extremely foolish sometimes.
LordEnigma 11,313
Honestly, you can’t have an opinion against climate change ESPECIALLY if you have never studied it and just think it isn’t real... there are plenty of FACTS to disprove that opinion. However scientists do not believe climate change was "started" by man as such, we're just accelerating the process by quite a large margin. The earth was always going to get warmer, but it was meant to happen over centuries, we're seeing changes happen on an annual level at this point, and that's what is worrying. Unfortunately I think people in the beginning stages of warning about this were not good at explaning it, there were too many intimidating scientific scenarios and language that is unfriendly to the public to really get people on board, also now people think that they are campaigning for the idea that climate change is only caused by man when that isn't what they're saying, but it enables for people like Trump to say that climate change is natural as if that's some kind of rebuttal. I hope we can succeed in slowing down the process but the US stepping out of the Paris Agreement (and becoming the only country on earth to now be out of it willingly) is a giant, giant setback and will cause lasting damage. Yes. Climate change, global warming, global cooling are all natural processes. We just have to look at charts of Earth's temperatures across millions of years, etc. Anthropogenic climate change is the real debate and it is a FACT our contribution is accelerating this process and there will come a point where our society will not be able to adapt. It will be catastrophic. How people can think our activities aren't fueling this process with all the evidence presented is beyond me. Even then, pollution and our air quality should be important even if you don't believe in anthropogenic climate change.

Furthermore, global climate is what's being discussed when speaking about anthropogenic climate change and its effects on certain regions.

Science education needs to be more widespread. Although the distinction between climate and weather should be common knowledge. The common person doesn't know the mechanisms of the theory of evolution but that doesn't discredit the theory either.
