I get that it's disrespectful to the flag, I get it, but at the same time, when you look at it objectively, Trump is someone who doesn't respect people, and that should be above some fabric. I know, that's why I said I understand the whole symbolism and meaning that is carried by the flag, but at the same time, when you have a man who doesn't care about the people whatsoever, then he has no say in trying to accuse other people of being disrespectful. The football player acted as he did because he felt as though the flag did not stand fro him as a black man. That's not political correctness, that's expressing your political point of view and should prompt questions about race relations in America atm rather than people focusing on the very act itself. It's about the meaning behind his defiance. Whether you agree with the venue in which he chose to express his political views is another matter, but the very basic act of it shouldn't be contentious. Just as we're allowed to burn the flag, you need not show it respect either. He exercised his right to not salute it just as the NFL expressed their right to sack him for it (though I think that was not the best idea, personally).
