That hasn't nothing to do with the Emmy's. It's okay to be outspoking, but to just use every single platform to bash him has become really annoying. Though in fairness, I didn't want the show being about him either and I think Colbert has been getting a little too Trump since Trump was elected. Yes, Trump should be critiqued and judged and scrutinized, but for the love of god give us a breather sometimes. Thankfully, the Emmy's weren't too bad, though. The way I see it is that you have every other day of the year to talk about Trump is you so choose; let the immensely hardworking individuals who are being honored shine instead of the looming ogre. For some people this is the highest honor of their professional careers, let them have their time without the most memorable thing coming out of it being yet another swipe at the president (unless they chose to do that in their speech themselves then that's chill because they chose to use their time that way).
