Three years since the release of Cheek to Cheek; my opinion on the album

Fascination

Today, three years ago Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett released their collaborative jazz album Cheek to Cheek, it was a number one record and won a Grammy award. To some people, the Cheek to Cheek era was horrible, to me, it was beautiful. We got stunning looks, breathtaking performances, etc. Tracks like Everytime We Say Goodbye, I Won’t Dance, Lush Life, Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) and Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered are beautiful. Pretty much all the tracks on this album are beautiful except maybe just one which I always skip and it’s one of the few songs Gaga doesn’t sing on it. My opinion on the album and the era; for such a big pop star like Gaga, it was a groundbreaking move. And I’m happy she made that move. I stanned Gaga when I was young because she was doing things other artists haven’t done earlier and she did it again. She showed us a side we haven’t really seen before when it comes to jazz music (except the song she made with Tony in 2011) and introduced herself to a new audience. Not only that, she opened for young little monsters to explore jazz artists and jazz music a gate for us to explore for more. Something to appreciate, Gaga Daily or little monsters might dislike the album, but the vocals on this album are one of the best we have heard before in my opinion. Hopefully one day we will hear the sequel Tony talked about last year.

OP: I agree with every single of your words + C2C made her voice grow and open up even much and in better way, I really love tone of her voice after this album , it became more glassy, airy soft operatic.

I have appreciated C2C a lot more as time has passed

even tho the era was a non event to me it was exactly what she needed after the mess and the media execution during the ARTPOP era

C2C and Joanne helped to clean her image to the GP

she definitely took the right desision when she released these 2 albums

my olny problem were the visuals, she could have released better videos for these records but oh welll

My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48

Her best style

Her best vocals

The most positive reception she's ever received

The most stable and happy she's ever looked

Truly will go down as one of her best eras :applause:

VOLANTIS

I have to thank Gaga for making me fall so hard for classics. Since then my love and need to explore theses records only grew. This was a beautiful era and I loved every second of it. :kara:

Wow, I know it's a cliche to say but it feels like yesterday.

I will always love this beautiful album. I loved how Gaga followed her instinct and did something completely different. . I love that it made me fall in love with jazz and introduced me to so many jazz legends. I love the big Cher hair, the glamour, the gorgeous relationship between Tony and Gaga, the perfect dynamic and blend of voices, the authenticity and wonderful orchestration on the album. I love how she sings La Vie En Rose, Lush Life, and Nature Boy. I love how the album introduced so many older people to Gaga and put her talent on a pedestal. And above all, I love that it made Gaga fall in love with music again after she was so close to giving up.

Whatever you say about this album, it was without a doubt a VITAL turning point in her career. It practically saved her career.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

One of my favorite Gaga records. I enjoyed the era so much, it was so calming and relaxing, and I've always loved jazz, so it was a move I really appreciate from her. Honestly, I'd place C2C up there with BTW and Joanne as my favorite Gaga albums. They really cover all her talents.

❤ x ❤

It should've been the ARTPOP ACT II Era.

Yeah I'm sure that would've gone down well with the public. :ladyhaha:

C2C is my 2nd favorite album  (after good sis Joanne) and pretty underrated on this site. The outfits of that era were elegant and stunning, and her voice was better than ever.
