The Ring

The Ring is a 2002 American supernatural psychological horror film directed by Gore Verbinski and starring Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, and Daveigh Chase. It is a remake of the 1998 Japanese horror film Ringu, which was based on the novel of the same name, written by Koji Suzuki.

The film was released theatrically on October 18, 2002, and received mostly positive reviews. Many critics praised the reliance on dread and visuals over gore and the direction along with the screenplay writing, but mainly criticized the lack of character development. The film grossed over $249 million worldwide on a $48 million production budget, making it one of the highest-grossing horror remakes of all time. The film was followed by two sequels: The Ring Two and Rings.

The Ring is notable for being the first American remake of a Japanese horror classic and for paving the way for a number of subsequent "J-horror" remakes, such as The Grudge, Dark Water, Pulse, One Missed Call, The Eye, Shutter, Mirrorsand The Uninvited.

Rings is a 2005 American horror short film. It was initially released as an extra disc with a re-release of The Ring on DVD.[1] The events in Rings lead up to the sequel The Ring Two, on whose DVD Rings is also included as a bonus feature.

The Ring Two

The Ring Two is a 2005 American supernatural psychological horror film and a sequel to the 2002 film The Ring, which was a remake of the 1998 Japanese film Ring. Hideo Nakata, director of the original Japanese film Ring, on which the American versions are based, directed this film in place of Gore Verbinski.

The film was shot in Astoria, Oregon and Los Angeles, California. It was released on March 18, 2005, and although it was met by generally negative critical reception, it opened in the United States with a strong US$35 million its first weekend, more than doubling the opening weekend of The Ring. Its final $76 million domestic gross was less than the original's $129 million, but it took $85 million internationally, for a total gross of $161 million.

Spoiler

These are only the American film series. I would be more than happy to add the Japanese and Korean versions if they are requested.
