Apparently, 2 million people out of 7 million had voted but out of those 2 million, 90% wanted independence, so the vote was called off early and they'll be independent in 48 hours. I don't know what fantasy realm I've entered into. Catalonia and the rest of Spain are in my prayers. I can't imagine how shocked to the core they are. Personally, I'm not for any kind of nationwide independence unless absolutely necessary. Unless there is actually persecution going on in a country, I'm not for splitting it up. I didn't want Scotland split up and I thank my lucky stars that we never did now more than ever. I don't see how Catalonia can cope on it own, really. I've never lived in Spain (but I have been there), so I can't speak for its people but this just all seems way too drastic from my point of view.
