Rollercoaster 2
Lol. Suicide happens. People need to get a grip on reality and look at the bigger picture. I've attempted it, I know others who have succeeded. Nobody, NOBODY kills themselves because a popstar sings a sad song... Unless it's "Gloomy Sunday.". CoolTrainerTerry 1,377
Not only that, but also the fact she's the co-founder of the BTW Foundation. Also, "celebrities need to recognise that they’re role models for young people in the community." I find that quote as a whole load of bull****. If I were as famous as Gaga I would have already stated the fact that I'm not their kid's parent and it's not my fault if they choose to listen to me more than they listen to their parents. If you're gonna parent, do it right and don't blame me for not paying attention to your child. This is what pisses me off. Parents complaining about anything and everything being a negative influence on their children and never taking any responsibility for themselves. They are the parent. It's their job to tell their kid right from wrong. Instead, they sit them down in front of the tv and blame television and movies and music and video games for corrupting their kids. None of those things should be used as teaching methods. If the parent sees or hears something they don't like, explain to the kids why they think it's wrong. Don't just b---h about everything and try to censor it for other people because they are ****ty parents. Instead of parenting their own child, they try and parent everyone elses children. But nothing is their fault, they just sit them in front of the tv and blame whatever they can for what's wrong with their children, right? If anything, this song is a great way for parents to discuss with their children the topic of suicide. But no, parents are too lazy nowadays and will just say it's a bad influence on kids and try to ruin things for everyone else.
Outofcontrol 0
Where to even start with this.so reaching At this point Gaga will get b---hed for whatever the **** she does.do this people forget that this is LADY ****ING GAGA,who made a album BORN THIS WAY a year ago ?She's spent an entire ****ing era talking about equality and be yourself and enjoy life and etc.. like seriously mentality of some people Well, I guess we have to be prepared for anything from now on, I mean, she's the most relevant star so, whatever she says, sings or she does whatever, will make controversy. the Queen of controversy :duck:
NewUsername 11,344
Saw this coming . How is the song PROMOTING suicide. She's stating and narrating about it, not make a romantic, cool view out of it. Gaga's not afraid to talk/sing about taboo topics By the logic of the journalists, songs should only be about good things then?
sciencemonster 31
Really? They think she's promoting suicide? With this fan base? I can't imagine how angry she would be if she read this
SEANGT 5,173
 quoting Rihanna here "The music industry isn't exactly parents r us" She gets ridiculous hate when she writes a song about positive things, she gets hate when she writes about negative things. She can't win. lmao I love rihanna sometimes.
Sleigh Mama 0
I actually kinda agree with the critics. I think this song does in fact make suicide look glamorous and that it was a blatant bad decision on her part to release a song like this consider her impressionable fanbase. Besides that, I don't like the song for what it is anyways. I'm disappointed. I hope Princess Die goes in the vault.
rph99 38
Such a crock of ****. This is like saying Adele's album 21 is promoting relationship break ups. Some people just need to go away and not voice their opinion.
FairyDreams 4
Doesn't set a bad example... more so a glimpse of the life of women in history (there are many that this song could relate to). They have it all, but they still want to end it all.

Gagz 2,579
The article never says she promotes suicide. Let's just clear that up. I see where they are coming from, but I honestly don't think one song will make people want to kill themselves. A person who commits suicide has deep-rooted issues and a song isn't going to randomly to kill him or herself.

Some people just need to go away and not voice their opinion. Hah, the point of this whole board is to voice opinions, dimwit. Maybe Adele's 21 is trying to create something beautiful out of a breakup, that's a lot different than trying to make something beautiful and artistic out of suicide. I see where they are coming from, but I honestly don't think one song will make people want to kill themselves. A person who commits suicide has deep-rooted issues and a song isn't going to randomly to kill him or herself. Not everybody thinks like you and I. Especially youth, it's important to remember that. EDIT:It's obviously not "The song" that is going to lead them to make the final decision... that's not the problem.
Mystique105 0
This song is being referred to on various sites as Gaga's new "suicide song". As soon as I heard it I knew it was going to cause a lot of controversy, and quite frankly, I do think it could have a negative affect on messed up kids who will take the words literally. With the increase in teen suicide I can understand the concern. You have to remember that most people aren't going to try and deconstruct the song to figure out what parts might be metaphorical or have possible double meanings. They are taking the song and the lyrics at face value. And..if we go back to the beginning of the 'Marry the Night' video, it seems like Gaga has just had an abortion, goes home to recuperate, and gets a call telling her her record label is dropping her. She tells this story in real life of how she called her mom, her mom freaked out, told her she would be right over and dropped the phone. Putting 2+2 together and maybe coming up with 4...possibly ......Gaga did feel suicidal after having an abortion and getting dropped by her record label on the same day....maybe she took some pills. But this is sheer conjecture based on her own story and the lyrics to this song....and her saying the song was part of her deepest personal feelings. PaperIz 7,338
i hate that! i mean just because she discusses suicide does not mean she promotes it, or that it will influence people! I believe this song comes from a dark, honest, and a very relatable place. Like when Britney was suppose to commit suicide in her "Evertime" video (which btw i think she still did) people had a fit! That she was glamorizing suicide. it's just dumb. it's a real topic, why can't it be sung about?? Human generated art
