I think you misunderstand.

A Star Is Born, the movie, features original music from Gaga - she is eligible for best original song and all that because she wrote the material.

There is also production going underway for A Star Is Born as a broadway show, however it's not connected to the movie and features music from the Judy Garland version of the movie. If the Broadway show had used Gaga's music then she would have been eligible for a Tony. It doesn't, Gaga isn't at all connected with the Broadway show, so she isn't eligible for a Tony.

The song also won an award at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, however, just Warren was credited because of their cue sheet accreditation requirement. With its nomination, "Til It Happens to You" became the first song ever to be nominated at the Grammys, Oscars and Emmys in the same year.

Ah...I assumed the movie was using the OG version. Also Broadway shows don't take that long from the start of the project until previews stary. The musical will prob be out or in the final stages by the time the movie is out. Like I said, Gaga has a spot on perfect personality for Broadway. If you look back to the C2C interviews, I prob would've thought she was a Broadway diva if I didn't know her

Oh yea...Gaga performed it at the Oscars so that means it was eligible (that's a new fact)

If Gaga retires from making albums and all, she should really make a move to Broadway and Jazz in NY...she's a local, amazing at those things, and she'd have a bigger legacy.
