This review from The Globe and Mail was credited as "rotten" in Rotten Tomatoes with a 2.5/4 score. The review was so vague and poorly written it deserves some individual discussion here. I don't even understand why it goes in Rotten Tomatoes. It is the first negative review I've read for the documentary. Spoiler "Joanne, the title track to the singer’s new album, is a balladic homage to an aunt who died young. Resisting the pushed-for pathos, the grandmother compliments Gaga on the song but tells her “don’t be maudlin.” Gaga is disappointed, and director Chris Moukarbel probably was as well, for sappy seems to be his goal."
