JWT is an amazing tour, still miles better than anyone else out there, but it's missing the energy that usually comes from seeing Gaga live. It's a much "safer" show for mainstream audiences, but in turn, much less fun for the fans who came to dance and party. Granted, you cannot compare the two. Both tours were appropriate for their time. artRAVE was at the height of the EDM craze (hence the "rave"). It would be foolish of her to attempt a show like that in 2017. Glad we have both. Miel 15,009 Posted September 1, 2017 Share Posted September 1, 2017 The artRave was a lot wilder and more, like, crazy youthful fun. The visuals were cool, and the outfits were amazing. It really was a party. JWT, on the other hand, seems a bit more sophisticated and intricately technical, which is a surprising contrast to how organic her performances have been so far. It's a lot more mature and band oriented, and I really enjoy that. It's a lot slower, and sometimes that seems less streamlined, but it's quiet moments (TEOG, Joanne) really are defining moments not just of the show, but of her as an artist overall. Attending both, I'm gonna have to go with the JWT on this one. All of her shows have been incredible, but JWT's combination of stage production, band blending, and Gaga's stage presence, make it a really incredible show. I do wish she had better outfits, though. I only experienced in GA and it was the time of my life. Those clear catwalks were just --- EVERYTHING!!! You really felt like you were part of the show, creating the energy and magic right beside her. And you literally were! However, I cannot imagine it was nearly as enjoyable from the seats. It would be like watching a party vs. being at a party. JWT delivers a much better show for those in seats, no question. But those artRAVE catwalks... I MEAN... just look!!! Cedrick Jules 51 Posted September 1, 2017 Share Posted September 1, 2017 I went to both shows, I prefer Joanne world tour. Even though I enjoyed both but I was amazed with the production in JWT. I love the costumes, it was mixed with the old vibes (her costume from just dance, applause, bloody Mary and Bad romance) and the new vibes (costume from opening, John Wayne and Million Reasons). Also, her costume doesn't look cheap as Artrave (although the costumes were fun). I love the stage in Joanne because it seems so basic and simple stage but when the show has started it gets complex and crazy. The visuals in Joanne give me life, even it doesn't make sense with the era. The whole show in Joanne has a good flow compared in Artrave. I think the vast majority of the time, you'll have people pick whatever the current tour is versus any previous ones. This doesn't apply to all, but I've seen the trend happen. We consistently have younger and newer fans on the site with each era, who typically we're unable to go to previous tours. I liked the artRAVE better. BUT she had a great energy at my show and it made me appreciate everything a lot more, it became my favorite show I've ever seen from Gaga, but not my favorite tour. Plus JWT has awesome special effects ARTRAVE didn't have. And parts of the ARTRAVE looked pretty cheap. I would say JWT tho. The only thing I liked better about the ARTRAVE was the stage and a few of the iconic outfits. For me JWT wins! Get Applause & G.U.Y to 1B views!
