courtneylove 171
I think it is. Otherwise, she would be getting more airplay for Perfect Places and Homemade Dynamite, which are above-average bops IMO, especially with the garbage "bops" we have been served in the past year. Fiona Apple 13,006
No. Huge critical acclaim, decent album sales, decent lead single. She is just not that mainstream anymore
Arturo 40,746
It's one of those eras that is kind of doing horrible in all metrics but is still very....present? Well the album made some waves but Green Light came and went. I don't even think that song has sold 200,000 in the States.
LanaticMonster 189
How is it a flop? It's one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2017, sales are not the only thing that matters to call an album a flop! I've spent my days in deep regret, but I wanna forgive and forget
littlepotter 75,147
the sis has had 2 eras so far, so your wording is ridiculous. she is doing just as well and even better than most other pop girls (especially in critical acclaim) chaeri pls
OBEY 57,109
It's critically acclaimed but commercial wise its a big underperformance compared to her first era

Sebs 1,809
I wish my entire life was a flop era then.
Meredith Grey 3,157
I love this era so much and I don't think she's flopping, I think she just is not mainstream at all. In the future I see her having success more similar to Lana with maybe another hit single or two here or there.
bobbby 939
I just don't think Lorde is going to be a huge pop star. She'll have industry acclaim and recognition but I think Royals was a fluke. She'll keep making brilliant music but I don't expect her to be a household name each album cycle. i also think Perfect places is the worst (only bad) song on the album but that's just my two cents Used to be on here as broadwaybobby in TFM era
TropicOfCANCER 6,292
Lets get one thing clear. Lorde is never, ever going to be big as she was during Royals. She's not. And that's okay. She'll--probably for the next decade or (hopefully 2)--ride the same wave of the Lanas, Marinas and other alt.pop girls who release the music they want for their respectably sized fanbase. Melodrama is literally one of the most acclaimed albums of the years, and that alone should hopefully get her an AOTY nomination at this years grammys.
