techhausmonster 175
I think of the whole manager situation didn't happen, 'ARTPOP' would have done so much better than it did. I think the team had more control of the promo than Gaga did. I remember in an interview she did in Japan (i think) she said that she never picks her singles, which I think may be a bad choice. She wanted 'Venus' to be the second single, but the record label chose 'Do What U Want' because of sales. In an interview during the 'Cheek To Cheek' era, Gaga said that she felt tired of fighting the record label to keep things her way and that they were constantly trying to get her to make another 'The Fame' or 'Born This Way'. They kept pushing her and pushing her until she broke. 'Cheek To Cheek' helped her regain her strength, and I think that's why 'Joanne' is such a personal album and it's much more stripped back than her previous work. (the 'dont call me gaga' lyric from monster, how she sang teeth and many other old bops at coachella ) its like these great events reminded her why she wanted to be famous at the first place, how it feels to have the gp worship you again. i mean the gp has mostly nice things to say about gags events & tour also its undeniable she is way "crazier/darker" lately, plus the concept about being dark was the first concept of LG5 now all these bring us to the cure, i was pretty confused like ur in the middle of promoting (at least trying to ) your album, why would you release a new single? is it a new era? is something coming? a sickening video?? i was so hyped!! and then came nothing till recently when it hit me, what if gaga was testing the waters? what if she was just checking out wether she's still "commercial"? i mean the song was pretty generic, and totally not gaga long story short i think gaga really wants to sit her pretty peach ass back on that throne, and if she does the right things she probably will, the way i see it the odds are in her favor! i'm not scared of the gp, she's really #that bitch, she can make bops, she can be commercial! it's literally up to her, just like she said in her debut album "you can literally choose to be famous". that's all Completely agree. I think Gaga has the drive to be on top of her game (The Fame Monster era), I reckon that The Cure was released just to see how she would fair doing more commercial sounding music. Even without promo it did almost as good as Million Reasons which only really well after Super Bowl. I think something is coming in the new year, after the tour. Next year it's the 60th Grammy's, Gaga will debut the lead single for the next album and win a Grammy for Million Reasons
God Control 2,181
She will if she truly puts her mind into it. I wouldn't consider Joanne, The Cure, C2C or even ARTPOP to be any attempt to create a masterful work of art. They are good records, yes but they didn't show real signs of hard work. They felt like attempts to either be different or to recapture a previously admired style. But if she hires people who know what she's all about, real visionaries who can help her create an album and a whole era that is perfected visually, sonically and lyrically, then yes, why not? Madonna's career wasn't at its best during Erotica and Bedtime Stories, despite the unforgettable gems we got from those eras, yet she managed to top those with Ray of Light, Music and Confessions on a Dancefloor. Why? because she knew how to perfect those. Hell, even their accompanying tours (The Confessions Tour, for example) surpassed anything she'd done before, both in terms of visuals, performance, outfits, songs, dancers, hell even the backdrop videos were epic. thehanyo 4,251
What do we think she is going to be doing between the tour and the premiere of ASIB? It's a pretty long gap... like 8 or 9 months. I hope it's not a blackout.
