78% Of Americans Live Paycheck To Paycheck, 71% In Debt, 56% Save $100/Mo

78percent of full-time workers said they live paycheck to paycheck, up from 75 percent last year, according to a recent report from CareerBuilder.

Overall, 71 percent of all U.S. workers said they're now in debt, up from 68 percent a year ago, CareerBuilder said. 

While 46 percent said their debt is manageable, 56 percent said they were in over their heads. About 56 percent also save $100 or less each month, according to CareerBuilder. The job-hunting site polled over 2,000 hiring and human resource managers and more than 3,000 full-time employees between May and June.

While household income has grown over the past decade, it has failed to keep up with the increased cost-of-living over the same period.

Even those making over six figures said they struggle to make ends meet, the report said. Nearly 1 in 10 of those making $100,000 or more said they usually or always live paycheck to paycheck, and 59 percent of those in that salary range said they were in the red.

Nearly 10 percent of those making $100,000 or more say they can't make ends meet.

Overall, most workers said they are in debt and many believe they always will be.

Solutions:

-Single Payer Healthcare, save families thousands of dollars each year

-Tuition Free College, making college an affordable expense not a luxury and making sure every American has an opportunity to go to college

-Increase apprenticeships and skilled job training programs to increase wages and employment and for students who feel college is not right for them

-Investing in high paying, Green Energy new jobs, the future of energy, so coal and fracking country have higher paying, safer jobs of the future

-Eliminate some tax deductions and loopholes that benefit the top 1%, so they don't pay a less tax rate than a middle class American

-Make sure big corporations pay taxes and stop offshoring money so small businesses are not burdened with all the taxes to pay

-Make childcare affordable again, so people have no excuse to not work and increase their wages

-Start expanding investing, money management, and stock classes in public education so all children, regardless of their parents income or their area, have the opportunity to learn about how to save, manage, and make smart choices with their money and when it is right to start a family

This is unnacaptable for the United States and we have to do the people better

I've been trying to get back into school for a couple years now. I wanted to get financial aid on top of a scholarship 'cause I can't afford thousands of dollars per class but our tax laws are so stupid  Until I'm 24 I'm supposed to use my dad's tax information despite the fact that I've barely lived with him in my life, never actually depended on him, and I haven't even seen the guy in nearly a year

I'm an adult who works two jobs just to get by, why tf do I need my dad's permission to get a higher education?

I am so sorry to hear about your situation. It would only take our country $70 Billion to make community college tuition free for all income brackets and public 4 year colleges and universities for students from households making $125,000 or less per year, yet our country thinks its a better investment to take that $70 Billion and invest in the $650 Billion Defense Budget.

We are going to turn America progressive and blue in 2020, I can feel it!

i couldn't even get FA because i only took 2 classes  the struggle. im gonna have to be applying to every scholarship when i finally get ready for my degree's classes

I'll never understand why this happens. We NEED to start seeing better wage growth. Especially when corporations are apparently raking in as much profit as ever and yet consumers and workers never see any of it
