Ask yourself.

look, I’m not saying that not liking Taylor Swift revokes your right to call yourself a feminist.

but I am saying that most of the reasons people are shitting on her comes from deeply internalized misogyny, no matter how much they deny this.

If you hate TS’s new song because you think she’s

a. crying for attention

b. being immature

c. being too petty / needs to “get over” kimye / katy perry / whatever

then please, ask yourself why no one ever, ever, ever shits on male musicians for writing songs that not only **** on other artists, but even call them out by their name. Like, Drake vs. Meek Mill or Eminem vs. well, you name it. People go crazy over that ****. These male artists are seen as bad ass and savage for doing something that YOU’RE ALL SHITTING ON TAYLOR SWIFT FOR DOING.

Not to mention, no one ever **** on Kanye for demeaning Taylor in his song, “Famous,” SEVEN years after the vma award show “incident.” He was still going on about it, and no one told him to “move past it.” Why? You know why. Because men can respond to their own experiences in whatever way they want to. And according to you guys, women can only respond to their own experiences in one acceptable way. AKA not being “petty,” and just shutting the **** up. Because like, who wants to hear women talk anyways? lets leave that for the men, right?

Please check your internalized misogyny at the door and allow Taylor Swift to respond to her own experiences in whatever way she wants, because you all allow men that exact same luxury without endlessly shitting on them.

I think Taylor's attitude is immature but if I see a male artist acting the same way I'll think he's being immature as well.

Male artists can literally be homophobic, misogynistic, abusive, violent, fake, etc. and still have a career

why god :selena: (u don't need to quote me and tell me why lol)

not to mention, female artists being called "mean" when I've never heard any male celeb called "mean" ever tbh. Even if Taylor did reference Kim's attack in the bath, ok it's kind of low but..?? Eminem says he wants to kill women in his songs, tie them up, piss on them, yet.... "that's just his alter ego!!!!!!"

Said the man. You know that everything you read there is true and you still choose to be negative.

You only named rappers; in the rap scene diss tracks are 2nd nature regardless of being male or female.

Its just hypocritical that Taylor has this big feminist spiel about how women are supposed to help each other in the industry but is about to have 2 #1 songs that spotlight a feud with another female artist.

Also most people hate the song because how it sounds sonically, the weak chorus, and the immature lyrical content.

It is not about the song or rap. It is about how y'll attack her and don't attack others when they do the same thing.

What was said about male artists is 100% true.

But I can't see how perpetuating her petty vendettas against other women (for such trivial stuff) is any less internalized misogyny...

If she was higher than that, shouldn't she be striving for unity within women??

:wtfga: This may be true for some people but I'm telling you MY point of view, which is on top of that not negative. You are the negative one saying this opinion automatically comes off from a misogyn.

You brought up rappers, rap beefs, and the feud with Kanye as examples.

The majority of people are not going to attack a rapper for a diss. Especially if it's not towards their fav; and Taylor isn't that loved on here so I wouldn't expect that many people to defend her here.

Attacking a rapper for a diss or shade is pretty useless since it's ingrained in the genre. That's why it's more polarizing when it happens in other genres like pop.
