Well now that Taylor has failed me, I can't wait for the new Gaga/Britney to rise next year :lolly:

It's just one song, and her albums are always better than her lead singles.

People are so quick to brush Taylor off just because she's Taylor,  basic, generic, a snake, etc.

My biggest problem with it is that I don't understand what she did :poot:

The verses are about her being hurt by someone (shocker, I know :rip:) but the chorus..."look what you made me do"...what did she do? :poot: Kill them? :poot: I'm confused :poot:

I feel the same way! You literally just described what I couldn't... :sharon:

Like, what did she do? Write a song? :rip:

Omg so I'm not the only one who has this weird theory that every 10 years two female pop stars emerge out of nowhere and explode everything? Cause see in 1998= Britney & Xtina, then 10 years later 2008= Gaga & Katy Perry. Can't wait for 2018! :classy:

As far as pop songs go it's really not very memorable. It's not something I'll listen to whilst brushing my teeth on a Saturday morning, nor if I'm getting drunk with friends.

If it was released by somebody like Charli XCX it would barely touch the Top 40.

I was hoping she'd abandon the whole victim complex, given all that went down last summer. She is continuing to use an old beef to perpetuate a victim complex. Albums and songs about perseverance are typically great, but here it feels totally empty. On Rainbow, the content is powerful as Kesha forgives her abuser of more than a decade and moves forward, becoming a better person. Here, it's just Taylor refusing to grow and move on. It's disappointing.

Beyond the content, the song falls flat. The chorus is difficult to listen to. There are nice aspects, I do like the pre-chorus and early verses...but they just lead nowhere. She says the old Taylor is dead, but based on her furthering a victim complex yet again, it seems as though the old Taylor is alive and well. :reductive:

Her name is selling this track. This isn't even a song: it's a glorified teaser for her true lead single. I can bop to most anything, but this isn't remotely close to her best work. She's pissed at somone, and I can't shake my ass to negativity.

B*tch, I'll be disappointed for real if some big new star (or Gaga herself :stalkga:) doesn't shake the industry next year :nails:
