ESPN confirmed Tuesday night that it had decided to pull an announcer from calling a University of Virginia football game because his name is Robert Lee. This Robert Lee is Asian. “We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name. Can you guys imagine the uproar that people would have had if a Robert Lee as an announcer right after all that's happened there with a different Robert Lee? People would be pissed and would think ESPN purposely did that. ESPN realized that might have happened and should have kept quiet about it.
