This is why you should download your photos into a laptop and have at least one backup, you're dealing with a lot of people's money. Lot of money.

They should offer a partial refund or something more attractive than a autograph in exchange, like tickets to another show or a new photo, maybe a short call from Gaga herself is a reach since it's not her fault but would be really nice, I would be devastated... but, oh well, they got the experience at least.

Um, memory cards can fail. It most likely was that kind of issue, or the equipment wasn't working properly.

Honestly, I used to work for a photography company that processed thousands of photos a day. Data corruption does happen, however I was usually able to recover images from CF or SD cards easily  They may have lost select group images, but if they lost everything then that can only mean one of  two things:

1. The photographer physically LOST the SD or CF card 

2. The photographer didn't have a memory card at all in the camera () and didn't realize it until the end. (Some cameras stop alerting you after the first few times, and if the LCD screen is off it won't alert you at all )

Either way, mess. They need to at least partially refund these monsters
