This is just my opinion, but I find it to be one of the more interesting pop songs to come in a long time. For one, its thematic core and general subject is pretty odd- the utilization of Mary Magdalene's life and times with Jesus Christ as a metaphor between the discrepancy between reality/fantasy as a metaphor for celebrity culture and its impact on Gaga as a human is pretty... er, out there. The music itself is also a pretty rad amalgam, pulling small operatic influences to big chamber and orchestral influences infused with the atmospheric tones of metal screams and Gregorian-esque chanting and multiple pitch layers- it's a bit much, but they work really well. 3 points in and ready for more Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
