Seeka 12,372
Instead of b!tching about something you cannot possibly control (like literally everything in life) why not buy a ticket and go to a show? Experience > Expectation. I can't believe some of ya'll. How do you go through life this damn salty and bitchy and full of expectations? Doesn't that stress you out? Pray4FameGa 3,141
I think with LDR, she's more of a songwriter than a performer. It has always been the case. She is the most amazing artist, with a unique sound and aesthetic and vibe but she struggles to put it across in front of a live audience. She's admitted this herself. She has gotten a lot better over the years though, in fairness

I'm sorry I legit took a bathroom break at work and waited on my phone DESPERATE for like 20 minutes until I got one. I had the presale code tho so I did have an advantage but it kicked me out of the system a few times before I got one. I saw her in Chula Vista too! Omg small world. She'll come back for sure. Let's hope to a much bigger venue so more people can actually get tickets. Find your freedom in the music
StrawberryBlond 14,827
Fans go to her shows to hear her sing, all the other bells and whistles don't matter. She doesn't dance or play instruments energetically and her songs are very slow and down-tempo, so there's no need to be a very expensive, extensive set. She just sings and you're transported to another world. I can understand why hardcore pop fans might think she's a bit boring in comparison to elaborate tours by the likes of Katy, Gaga and Beyonce but you have to understand that she gives the fans what they're looking for. Adele doesn't have elaborate sets either, it's just her and the music and I don't see anyone complaining. 8 hours ago, JDi said: yeah I get the 50s 60s 70s theme. it's essential to her music and it's cool that she sticks to it but on stage it just doesn't feel like the "less is more" that she's going for. she could be more creative. those decades weren't that... empty. I think she looks at that time as it was depicted in magazines and film. that's probably why someone told her that she "doesn't understand the freedom land of the 70s." she's kind of making her world look lonelier than she aims to... idk it gets kind of boring and feels like a **** you can't wait to get over with. she can easily get straight guys in the audience hooked but her fans are mostly gay men so I always found it odd how they remain entertained. they look at her as a painting? or do a trick, pretend that they are her until it clicks? She played scenes from her music videos on the backdrop when I went to see her live a few years ago. Lately, she's been doing swaying movements to certain songs. I don't know what else you expect her to do. I don't know what you mean by "her fans are mostly gay men" because most of Lana fans I've encountered are women, of which I am myself (her work is designed for straight women, after all). And are you suggesting that gay men only want to see sexualised popstars acting wild at a live concert? Isn't that a bit limiting and stereotypical? There are just as many sophisticated, introverted gay men as there are flamboyant, extroverted gay men. Your sexual orientation doesn't dictate what kind of music or performance art you like. You got it all wrong, OF COURSE she wont have firework and fire on her tour and twerk and god knows what else.... She is not a popstar and doesnt need to have latex costume and everything else popstars have nobody is complaining about adele because she looks glamorous when shes touring.... the only problem I have with lana is her looking cheapy in my opinion and she doesnt look like that in music videos and etc only when shes touring... i need a little effort(only style wise) from her, is she can do it when shes on 100+ magazine covers she can do it on tour too I talked just about her clothes, not Lana is supposed to have dancers wtf is wrong with her? Your sexual orientation doesn't dictate what kind of music or performance art you like. well the show I went to was mostly gay men and I mostly see those follow her online, so there. and I didn't suggest anything. I was genuinely wondering because, like I said, I appreciate her art and Honeymoon is actually the only album I feel like listening to in its entirety but an hour and a half is too much for me to stay hooked on her kind of performance. but let me correct myself there "it feels like a really good* **** that you suddenly* feel like getting over with." I was fascinated with her and I could get lost in the music (even though I was being pushed the entire time since I was almost front row) but at one point I started to feel like I was watching a youtube video. it was what I imagine a Britney concert would feel like. looking all vulnerable and cute didn't fit the persona in many of the songs, at all. good thing I felt attracted to her, but then again, it must have been the sense of submissiveness that I don't think she was necessarily going for. it's seductive in a ****ed up way. I would go see her again, to see her, but I don't think she does her art justice... and I guess she's aware of that because wasn't there a time when she used to talk about not doing productions for venues with more than 1k capacity? 1 hour ago, StrawberryBlond said: Your sexual orientation doesn't dictate what kind of music or performance art you like. well that's... I mean... I definitely agree lol

drinkmytears 2,332
Photoshoots are the vision of the photographer and stylist, and these shoots that she does for fashion magazines have creative directors and advertisers, she is merely a model they have selected to sell issues- the same if they were to have put an actual model on the cover. Artists, or "talent" have little say in what they will wear as a stylist has selected the pieces for the shoot and she merely will get to pick what she likes and dislikes from that selection. Often times she will have to wear what and advertiser has paid for. That's just the fashion industry and that image has little to do with her or her stage persona. She has expressed that she is more of a writer than a performer. I'm sure she just wants to wear something comfortable and related to the character she is portraying onstage. Calling someone "a cheap mess" is really unkind though. She doesn't look cheap or messy to me, that's just her aesthetic. I doubt you sat down to write this post in a designer look with your hair and makeup done.
AJK273 2,700
You also posted the most unflatering photos of her on tour like what about these.... Also artist get hot and sweaty on stage and move around a lot so her makeup might run off and her hair might fall out of place but that doesn't mean she is a mess on tour 24/7 Messy, Petty, Beautiful, Covergirl
