The Nipplegate Incident

So I am having a day off today and I am chilling surfing. For the last hour I 've been searching about Janet Jackson's carreer decline. [Man she was HUGE back in the day.]

So theoretically speaking the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime-show malfunction ended her. But was it really the reason?

For those of u youngsters that don't know what I am talking about.

Some people argue that if it were a white woman alongside Timberlake that very night, this wouldn't have been much of a fuzz.

Some others say it was clearly orchestrated because the lyrics of the song were spot-on the momentum.

Some months later Justin Timberlake was on the top of the world, yet Janet Jackson slowly but surely stopped having rotation on radios/MTV and declined to a point of no return.

Some people even argue that YouTube was created because of the incident. (It couldn't be broadcasted on national TV so the creators created the platform to have a chance to view the second of the nipple slip)

 

I haven't found anything about the aftermath of Justin x Janet relationship but I guess thinks went sour from there on.

Any opinions? Do you believe it was orchestrated? Was it enough for a popstar's demise? Would it be the same if e.g. Gaga had the same malfunction?

They say that the upper part should have come off and not the red bra underneath as well. I dunno. Why would she choose to destroy ha carreer?

I guess she wanted to revive her career and have a nice controversy at the super bowl to get attention. However, she didn't expect the backlash that she was going to receive. The lyrics of the song are: "I'm going to get you naked by the end of this song". The song ends, and she has her breast exposed. Obviously that was intentional. Also, look at her face when it happens. This is bad acting at its finest. Showing the bra only would have made no sense at all, because she wouldn't have been naked. If she didn't know that the bra would come as well, then why would she wear this HUMONGOUS nipple piercing? For me it was clearly staged.

But was she really in a carreer decline back then? I mean... "All for you" -her last effort prior the incidence- was a 2* times platinum no.1 in US. I mean why would someone rely on SB to garner controversy? On the other hand she has always been on the controversially sexual side. You got my mind in a maze dude.
