Underwhelming Joanne Tour?

Am I the only one who thinks the tour is underwhelming? I was in GA floor of LA's 2nd night with a great view. & I did not see any spoilers before the show!

I truly love her and have good hopes, but why do I get this unsatisfied feeling? 

For example the intro was very anticlimactic as she just appeared on a box and sang 5 songs without nothing much happening when there could be epic cues and execution for theatricality. I felt like a lot of it was slapped together and rushed...There wasn't enough concept! It was just straight through singing and choreography throwing songs at us. No real use of music cues, lighting, storyline, or props. 

Whereas BTWB, all the cues were on point and had a flow. I hate to compare but it feels like every year the show goes down in quality and theatricality. 

I just recently watched Madonna's MDNA tour and holy sh*t.......every 3 seconds was filled with a cue from all departments, it was DETAILED, immaculate. It was conceptually choreographed. Not just dance choreo. And not a single song or performance felt like a filler because there was an idea behind each one. Whereas I totally forgot that Telephone, Poker Face, Ayo, Just Dance, and John Wayne ever happened......I don't remember them..She could've also done Angel Down more effectively instead of just standing on a bridge the entire song.

Will Gaga ever reach that caliber or is it too much work for her to do??? Too much for her to memorize and wrap her mind around?

Kind of agree. She needs to change up that set list real quick because I'm not really feeling this concept of 'oh I'll just hang out with my boyfriend then two weeks before my tour starts I'll start slapping things together'

The best and most memorable part to me was Bloody Mary and Schiesse, other than that.. 

omg I totally forgot she did Perfect Illusion and The Cure too....because there was no concept! I don't know what your standards are for a concert, but..

I think the JWT, from the bare amount of clips due to not spoiling myself, is a great accomplishment. I can see how it may not be like the MB. Gaga hasn't been as theatrical lately. BUT, there are many pros that I've noticed: Gaga bringing great production, giving each song a moment(the artrave lacked that imo), stellar outfits. 

Sure the opening could be more exciting, but I'm not going to complain. It could be worse.

It was an amazing concert, I went to the first show in Inglewood and it was everything I expected, she sang the hell out of her songs and danced at the same time plus the lighting itself looked fantastic. Y'all are never satisfied with what she gives us. Yes the BTWB was more theatrical but it's not the BTWB it's the Joanne Word Tour

Gaga is not Madonna, and She'll never be. Gaga is Gaga. Gaga is not trying to achieve what Madonna does on tours. Faster you'll acknowledge this, better for you. Gaga's shows were always more raw, more spontaneous and that's what I really like about her.

How were you feeling when she opened and the first 5 songs? Were you screaming or were you just standing there observing?

I'm sure you are not the only one. There will always be people who have different preferences.

However, this tour is getting rave reviews from the local media and those who attend. The majority do not agree with you. You are in the minority, but I'm sure you'll be able to find some people here to agree with you. 

 

Wait...Too much to memorize or wrap her mind around? Wth is that shade! Ohhhh...I get you now. Yeah, you should probably just save your money next time and go see Madonna.
