Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American supernatural drama television series created by Joss Whedon under his production tag, Mutant Enemy Productions with later co-executive producers being Jane Espenson, David Fury, David Greenwalt, Doug Petrie, Marti Noxon, and David Solomon. The series premiered on March 10, 1997, on The WB and concluded on May 20, 2003, on UPN. The series narrative follows Buffy Summers (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar), the latest in a line of young women known as "Vampire Slayers", or simply "Slayers". In the story, Slayers are "called" (chosen by fate) to battle against vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness. Being a young woman, Buffy wants to live a normal life, but as the series go on, she learns to embrace her destiny. Like previous Slayers, Buffy is aided by a Watcher, who guides, teaches, and trains her. Unlike her predecessors, Buffy surrounds herself with a circle of loyal friends who become known as the "Scooby Gang".

The series received critical and popular acclaim, frequently being listed as one of the greatest TV shows of all time, and usually reached between four and six million viewers on original airings. Although such ratings are lower than successful shows on the "big four" networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox), they were a success for the relatively new and smaller WB Television Network

Angel is an American television series, a spin-off from the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The series was created by Buffy's creator, Joss Whedon, in collaboration with David Greenwalt. It aired on The WB from October 5, 1999, to May 19, 2004, consisting of five seasons and 110 episodes. Like Buffy, it was produced by Whedon's production company, Mutant Enemy.

The show details the ongoing trials of Angel, a vampire whose human soul was restored to him by gypsies as a punishment for the murder of one of their own. After more than a century of murder and the torture of innocents, Angel's restored soul torments him with guilt and remorse. Angel moves to Los Angeles, California, after it's clear that his doomed relationship with Buffy, the vampire slayer, cannot continue. During the first four seasons of the show, he works as a private detective in L.A, where he and a variety of associates work to "help the helpless", restoring the faith and saving the souls of those who have lost their way. Typically, this involves doing battle with evil demons or humans allied to them, primarily related to Wolfram & Hart, a law firm supported by occult practices which is an extension of otherworldly demonic forces. He must also battle his own demonic nature.

I love Willow and Tara! But I also loved Oz. I wasn't a fan of how they portrayed Willow's sexuality once she got with Tara though.

I can see that. But it was also uncharted territory for a main stream television series at the time. Very daring and progressive. My cousin came out after Willow did actually. He was a massive fan of the show as well.

See, I understand that it was monumental. But her saying she is 100% gay, just seems odd to me. That to me, shits on her relationship with Oz. My support for this was the fact that even after she chose Tara over Oz, she flat out said to him that she felt like she would always be waiting for him, and that she imagines that one day when they are old, they will find each other again.

Yeah, but I think that is true of any first true love though. No matter how old you get, there is still a small part of you that belongs to that person forever. Its like you are frozen in time. :flutter:

Ahem. While Spike is a great character, he only "earned" his soul in hopes that Buffy would fall for him. Sure, Angel was cursed with a soul, but he then chose to find redemption, even without her in his life.
