The Child 18,997
I think those 2 movies ended up being the best of both trilogies. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
The Child 18,997
I also think High School Musical 2 is better than the first one. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

While Scream 3 was tonally different from the previous films (because of Columbine), there were too many **** ups in Scream 4 to warrant it being any higher (for me). Scream 3 isn't horrible but it did feel different from what Scream 2 was. Scream 4 for me wasn't perfect but felt a little more fresh because I guess because it was more modern but it still did have flaws, many being all the scenes that were cut that would have made the movie so much better. but over all for me Scream 4 had more story and purpose to it than Scream 3 did

While I wasn't crazy about the original script either, it at least has a new and fresh ending that the theatrical cut can only wish for. Emma Roberts and Rory Culkin are like 5"3' which is in Stark contrast to the killer who clocked in at 6'2". The idea of a relative being the killer was simply rehashed from Scream 3. There was literally no chase scene. None. Not one actual one on one chase scene like the other films. They tried to continue the idea of being "meta" by having a movie within a movie within a movie opening, which ultimately made it the most forgettable opening scenes of the series because it skipped out on terror and suspense. The dialogue for Gale was horrific ("I'm going rogue"). The hospital ending which was added on after filming had completed, also posted a huge plot hole: you are in the ICU yet no one comes running when they hear gun shots? Oh, and let's not forget about the "**** Bruce Willis" line. That was the nail in the proverbial coffin for me.

Yeah no I totally agree it didn't bring anything new at all and you're right no chance scenes just slices, but I don't know my personal preference the two films scream 3 & 4 could have worked and had potential but they feel into the horror cliche that the first two so smartly avoided

It would have made more sense to simply wait a year or two to let the tides settle and then make what was originally intended. Frequently, there are sequels and remakes that improve upon and surpass the original/predecessors. What are some sequels and/or remakes that you think are superior to its predecessors or the original release in a series/franchise? *Here's what I can think of now* Remakes: Godzilla (2014) John Wayne Video From the original you mean the real Japanese real Godzilla with the real roar? The fourth one was fresh to me cause it was literally 11 years "modern day Woodsboro" and still had the same feel to the original but give it its own twist!! regardless the entire Scream franchise will always remain iconic in the horror field.. RIP Wes Craven (no comment on the TV Series ) I love the hell out of Scream 3, don't get me wrong. I know every single word to it. Just of the original trilogy, it was the weakest. Had they added more gore, toned down the humor and cast someone else to play Roman, I think it would have rivaled the other two. Spoiler And also fixed Courtney Cox's bangs
