Gagaloo911 12,959
Happy that Miley finally got her first #1 and viral video! and Royals had a good run! I wonder where Uncle will peak when its all said and done considering it has twice the airplay, a 2 week old Music video, more performances (one being the voice) Meanwhile Do What U Want has no video, bad airplay, promo, and barely any exposure and its still top 20 on iTunes and maybe Billboard too I think too now!!! Love this perf post My point was that it's supposed to measure the popularity of the songs. People are only watching that video because it's funny. It has nothing to do with the song. At most, they should just count the music video. Agreed. Until it happens to a Gaga song, then ill probably be okay with it Bye Goty.... I mean Lorde. Bebe 17,093
Bye Goty.... I mean Lorde. Royals was #1 for 9 weeks She just serviced her new single Team to radio and her music video caused VEVO to crash. Her album is selling well and achieved mass acclaim. I have been saying this ever since Royals hit #1, but I would be cautious about saying Just Dance Royals is going to be her only hit.

TheOriginalOne 10,698
So Miley knock Lorde off #1 because of a "parody video"? What kind of joke is this?
mr.peter 3,555
Does anyone else think it's bull**** that parody videos like that count for streaming? So what, any video that uses the official audio of a song now counts? Since when was that the rule? This^ Its really weird, how could this reflect how well the song does when most people probably watching the parody for a laugh not because they want to hear the song. Well I guess this mean someone should make a very popular parody of Do What U want before the video drops to get a higher on BB. but really Billboard is turning into a mess. Somebody I Used to Know was #1 for 8 weeks so your point is what? It was also the best selling digital song of 2012. "Now she's just somebody that we used to know." I joke but, I am not hoping she fades. She's a good one to watch. She has potential. Unfortunately my predictions are based purely on what I see and know of the general public. If I'm wrong that's really just a win for everybody.
Shadow 6,625
Wrecking Ball is an alright song, but is it really that big of a deal? Royals at least has cultural depth going for it. Do your own research.
Smooth Criminal 2
Wrecking Ball is an alright song, but is it really that big of a deal? It went back to No. 1 only because of the viral video, which has like 65 mill views.

You ignored more than half of what I wrote Goyte's other singles refused to make ANY sort of impact. Team was climbing up the charts before it's official release, Team's video made VEVO crash and Pure Heroine is not only selling well it has critical acclaim and has been regarded as one of the best releases of the year. Forbes just released an article that made the claim that "much as punk wiped out disco, or grunge wiped out hair metal, Pure Heroine may have finally tipped the scales in change’s favor: there is now a palpably different and palpably popular sound to hone on in." Rolling Stone put Pure Heroine in their top 10 albums of the year list, she is a grammy favourite, TIME named her the most influential teen of 2013 (above Justin Bieber, Malala Yousafzai and Kendall and Kylie Jenner). Your predictions are based on nothing tbh. Edited December 5, 2013 by Bebe

Lorde is a singer, albeit a successful one but she is just a singer, while Malala is girl from a 3rd world country who was shot for trying to get an education! Actors and Singers should not be rated higher than Philanthropists or Activists, unless they are also doing either of the before mentioned. Especially not on the TIME's most influential lists. Smh! She'll maintain her success the same way Fiona Apple has. Perhaps if you defended Gaga on this board as much as you defend Lorde, well...
