She has never been afraid to flaunt her alcohol lifestyle, but even for fans there has to be some point where you really question what's being promoted and why. Why the need to rollout Joanne to the world via a Bud Light campaign? When someone is promoting use of this substance in this way, I don't think you just stand there as a fan and let it slide, that's BS.

They are the sponsors. Adults can drink. It's legal. Tons of artists are sponsored by alcohol companies at one time or another. Gaga is hardly unique in this type of sponsorship.

I mean, you can whine all you want...but it's not your career or your decision. You don't have a say...but you do have a choice in what you do with your time.

Well she said she knew what her fans wanted and then she released Joanne. It's kind of difficult to believe in her when it comes to being in touch with the audience

Fans bought Joanne and they bought tickets to the JWT. Fans also discussed the songs and album on this site for months now.

That's hardly signs of being in touch with your audience. The core of this fanbase, and the fanbase as a whole, is much less passionate this Era.

She knows what many of her fans would prefer, she just doesn't act on it.  I personally prefer Gaga to be an artist, not a pop star.   I don't look at her job as producing product that panders to her fanbase.    Gaga's job is to produce the art she needs to as an artist.  I can decide if I like her direction or not, but Gaga is much more interesting to me when she is reacting to the world around her, her own situations, and influences, and artistic needs and goals.

You are "no longer a fan"...although you are on her fan forum discussing her every day. Others here (and thousands who aren't) are fans and have continued to follow her through this era and look forward to hearing her sing her new songs in concert. You don't seem to understand that many others here don't agree with you...they enjoyed the era and are still fans!

While I think it's lovely that her works are still being appreciated, it's undeniable that the fanbase is not only smaller, but also less vocal and passionate. It's not even shade or anything, it is what it is.

Fanbases grow up, along with their artists. Times have changed, people have busy lives. That doesn't mean they still aren't big fans.

People come and go. Some even have trouble letting go...when it is time. :usrs:

I think Joanne has some of Gaga's best songs, and I think the song's on Joanne will age well. It's a different album, but you don't have to like everything she does. Maybe she finally let the facade go a bit and did something she was really feeling? Ever think of that?

Also I don't get coming to this forum, a gaga fan forum, to tell gaga fans that you're no longer a fan? Like, I respect your opinion, but why are you looking for validation from people in this venue? I wouldn't go to a Trump supporter forum and explain why I'm not a Trump supporter. I don't understand the point of this whole thread, to be honest. You can have your opinion, no one is denying you your opinion. But what is the point?

Reading your summary of the 2009-2011 era Gaga felt so nostalgic - you perfectly captured what it was like to be a Gaga fan at the time. Every day was so fun and exciting, and her never ending popularity soaring felt like a sports team who just kept winning. I also felt a bit sad because I know that kind of time in her career will never come back, not just because of Gaga's work, but because everyone knows who she is already.

With all that being said, I realized some time ago that in recent years I've been more of a fan of Gaga as a PERSON rather than for her art and music. I enjoyed Joanne a lot more than you seemed to, but truth be told, I've been a little disappointed in most of her music since BTW. I still loved a lot of it, but was expecting more, or something different with each release.

With my attraction to her sound and style fading, I've still always loved who she is, her intentions, and her heart. She's beautiful inside and out - her kindness and genuine love for her fans and people around the world can't be matched by anyone else in the industry right now. Her drive and ambition to be a master of her work - music and art - is something that encourages me everyday even though I am working on nothing related to music.

And you know what? I realized that not only is this fine, but it makes me respect and love her so much more because Gaga IS MORE than her music and art. There may be more artists who compel me, but very few will have the complete package like she does.
