Why does she hold her mic?

I've noticed a huge difference in quality since she switched to the hand mic. Have you ever noticed at the Monster Ball or BTW Ball that sometimes when she was talking it would make like a "pfft pfft" sound into the mic like the mic was too close and something was hitting it? It always drove me nuts. And it always gave her voice a nasal sound. I used to blame it on the engineers but now I don't notice it with the hand held mic.

The sound quality is way better, you don't hear her breathing, and I think it gives a special touch to the performance and choreo. Being able to dance and sing, and adapt your moves is interesting to see.

I would love for TechHaus to come up with a forehead mic based on theatre mic's that is in the hairpiece

Pacify Him

It gives me panic attacks because what if she drop the mic accidentally and it flew lost in the crowd?

Better yet, what if this happens again?

Iconic moment.

I know this is vain but I also feel like it's aesthetic and somewhat self-conscious in a way. Headset mics I feel were very associated with (don't come for me boos) Britney Spears and early 2000s pop, and with that also lip-syncing. We know how much Gaga hates for people to think she even could be lip syncing. So I think that's a big part of it—it seems past trend, but also like you're not actually signing when you wear a headset mic.

Used to be on here as broadwaybobby in TFM era

Have you heard how full and good her voice sounds in the videos? It sounds so powerful with the hand mic. She used a hand mic on the cheek to cheek tour and he voice was more enjoyable to listen to that at the artrave because there wasn't as much breath and other static.

Yeah especially when she did the Judas choreography to Bang Bang (My baby shot me down) :selena:

I always figured it was a comfort thing for her. There's a lot you can do with holding a mic, versus having both your hands awkwardly available. It's like giving a speech holding a paper or behind a podium versus just standing there giving it.

Gaga has always preferred a handheld mic, using one even when a head mic would have been much easier for her (Super Bowl performance).

I love the handheld mic! Her voice tends to sound a lot fuller when she uses a handheld. Also you dont hear that much breathing and it's easier for her to adjust, move the mic closer for soft notes and further away when she belts.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
