Lana Del Rey is an artist that almost the entire award system snubs. She's not nominated for anything regardless of how she does and its really annoying, because its not like shes unheard of.

But this is London, and Europe doesnt seem to have the problem America does about recognizing her  

I know, I don't understand it. She's having quite a comeback, her new videos are getting views and likes that she hasn't had since her debut. I still can't believe the runaway success the Love video's had. She's getting views and likes at a faster rate than Perfect Illusion. But can she get any VMA nominations? Nope. Alessia Cara gets a Video of the Year nomination despite said video having just 54 million views and less than 1 million likes in an entire year and only having 1.7 million subscribers. It's so annoying when all these ceremonies act like she's some unknown indie girl. Put it this way - Katy Perry's Witness debuted (and peaked) at #6 in the UK with sales of just 16k. This is a woman who's had amazing UK success - 4 #1's, 8 top tens, has sold over 2.4 million albums and has sold out arena tours. She had a top ten lead single this year. Lana debuts at #1 with sales of over 24k despite no hit singles from this era and only having 3 top tens her entire career, selling 1.3 million roughly and having very little touring power. She hasn't toured or promoted in the UK since 2013. Yet she pulls in a better peak and sales than a worldwide megastar. And yet, the music industry at large acts like she doesn't exist.

I highly doubt that. The Grammys don't care about that kinda stuff. They have given many a misogynist rapper awards and have allowed other problematic people to get nominations so I don't think they'll freeze out anyone who spouts anti-feminist thought. The Grammys are the same people who gave Chris Brown his first ever award after beating up Rihanna. I mean, be a decent human being? No awards. Drop kick a woman? Give that guy the greatest musical honour. Seth Rogen even made a joke about this at some ceremony: "You say a few hateful things, they don't let you within 100 yard of the Oscars. You could literally beat the s**t out of a nominee, they'll ask you to perform twice at the Grammys."

Wow, never heard about that. That is crazy. Makes you wonder how involved she got with men in the industry. She has hinted before that she dated industry bosses and all that, right? Maybe some of them are bitter and don't want to see her get nominated? I mean, Ultraviolence was so well critically recieved but it did have that lyric on Cruel World about "I shared my body and my mind with you, I did what I had to do, you're so famous now." Really makes me wonder where this person is and what she has on them.
