Anyone else who can't stand Beyoncé?

So, I know there's flame bait rules on here or whatever. I'm not trying to attack anyone as a person- I don't know Beyoncé personally and have nothing to say about who she is, what kind of a wife or mom, etc...I also totally respect anyone who is a fan of hers and even love some of her music.

In fact, I used to be a huge fan of hers but since 2013 she has become really unlikable to me as an entertainer and...brand.

She was so hyped up around the Super Bowl, which is expected, but after that people treated her like a god. Stans online always seem to forget her album 4 was viewed as a flop, producing no hit singles. She's also had many singles miss the Top 10 and 20. I'm not all about charts, but everyone thinks she's so untouchable when she's only had 2 Top 10 hits since 2010 (I believe).

Everyone says she's a great performer. I don't disagree, but I don't think she's the best. Nor do I think she's very creative. She just sings and dances. No instruments. In fact, she lipsynchs a lot as well. I find it really disrespectful how she lip synched at the inauguration.

Finally, she just doesn't seem genuine to me. Again, I'm not trying to attack her character but she used to be kind of relatable and someone I could see as a friend when listening to her party songs or breakup songs. Now everything seems so secretive and calculated. Very attention seeking and planned out.

Its just my opinion, and I'm just wondering if anyone else feels the same way. I'm not "pressed" that she's successful, I just don't get why people put her on such a pedestal. Often times the replies are just "because she's BEYONCÉ!!!" Or "she's the queen" but what's she the queen of?

I will say I think it's great that she talks about issues in America as a Black women and has helped bring attention to that issue. But she so rarely actually speaks or gives a candid interview it's hard to tell where her heart is. People accuse Gaga of just using the LGBT community for attention, but sometimes it feels like Beyoncé uses social issues for personal gain and then is relatively silent.

I can see why people don't see as the most "authentic" artist, but she does know how to achieve success in areas that most would fail in. :lana:

Except for Lemonade and some of Self-titled, I never really got into her music.

But she is a really great singer and entertainer and has earned her spot in the industry

Sure, the way she staged the announcement of the twins is quite a bit over the top and pretentious, but still

She not the second coming of Jesus, but she is still talented

To start off- I like Bey but I will agree she's not really that original. She literally steals a lot of her visuals, copies references, etc and does not give them credit. She does that with a lot of her songs as well. But at the end of the day she is a fantastic performer and vocalist. She's very dedicated to being good at those two things and I respect that. Most of the time I notice people just have a problem with her because of the hype that surrounds her and the fact that she "thinks she's untouchable/perfect/above everyone else"- but all of those have nothing to do with her. She always comes off very humble and grateful when she speaks and barely interacts with the media because she's shy. Most people think they have a problem with her but they just really have a problem with how they perceive her.

Beyonce is terrible at public speaking so thats why you don't see her speak out as often.

I'm pretty sure that she knows she's not a god-like figure, especially in cases like this...

It's not her fault that people hype her up to unimaginable levels. :tony:

Lemonade is the only album by her I like - the only I've listened to the end, tbh. It was great, and the visuals amazing.

Other than that, I don't really care about her. I think she's overhyped, her performances are okay, but other than that, she's just kinda basic to me, nothing over the ordinary.

Spoiler

@ me.

What's humble about

"Bow down b*tches"

"I ain't no average b*tch boy"

"I'm a diva"

"The woman they call the Queen"

"Im flawless"

...otherwise I agree with you. I used to find her humble, but I think since she fired her dad and released her self titled she's become the female Kanye- ego wise

I've never liked Beyoncé half of much as I Enjoy Gaga but I do find her talent on par with her success, personally. She's worked hard for nearly 20 years in the industry already and to still be peaking, and being so "huge"? I genuinely wish my fave could.

She can sing and dance but she or her team can't write good songs, nor give a heartbreaking performance. One of the most if not the most overrated singers of all time when her biggest hit was Telephone.

Drag me as you please but I said no lies.:queenga:

Let's not even talk about Beyoncé being pretentious when Gaga has done things like this:

But those are songs which are suppose to represent a specific moment in time. Why can't she feel herself every once in awhile? We all do. Just cause she's a celebrity doesn't mean she needs to self deprecate all the time. Also "Flawless" was about how she and the other girls in her group were feeling themselves and thought they were going to win Star Search but were ultimately humbled by the outcome. Having a big ego is part of hip-hop culture, but for the most part it's just a persona.

I've seen a lot of people and personalities like Wendy Williams saying "she can't speak" but i'd like to know why ? That's true I've never seen any interview of her so I start to wonder if she doesn't give a lot of interviews because of that...
