I have better knowledge of how these machines work because I am around them and see how well they are maintained here in Australia. USA and other countries have different protocol in looking after their amusement rides. I love rides, amusement parks, it is what it is... Here in Australia we have some of the strictest procedures in regards to amusement ride safety. I work for a company here in Melbourne and safety is their number one priority. Our ride takes hours to set up and everything is triple checked before we move onto the next step in the process of set up. Engineers and WorkSafe officials are with us every step of the way, during set up and during the duration of the carnival. I trust travelling amusement rides more than park rides due to the fact that any issues can be identified not only when the ride is set up, but also when the ride is packed. It's sad to see what happens, but i still have 100% faith in amusement rides, and will continue to support a great industry. I'm sure there are safety protocols and regulations in the USA as well. I still don't trust a carnival ride that travels from place to place every week or so that is basically rebuilt each time as much as I would a ride at an amusement park that is static. There is so much room for error, and I don't really have the highest amount of faith in carnival workers to make sure it's always 100%. At least where I am from, carnival workers kind of have a bad reputation.

EXACTLY! I hate whenever an accident happens at an amusement park there are always people trying to use it as justification as to why rides are "unsafe" and people shouldn't go on them. You always see comments like "this is why I never go on rides!!". With that logic you might as well never get into a car, because you are 10000x more likely to die on your way to an amusement park than at the actual park Amusement park accidents get a lot of media attention because they are super RARE.
