Who cares? That's not something you get compliments for. The fact that is special for the GOP only show the GOP sucks, not that McCain is a great man. 

He literally got left a hospital and flew to Washington to vote to keep others out of a hospital. He's a war mongerer. You would think that a guy who was tortured for five years would know how awful war is and would try to prevent but there's never a war he doesn't like. He is a dispicable man who doesn't seem to understand empathy. 

I care, and I respect him for his service, courage and for staying with his men. He's not just respected by the GOP, by the way.

Having said that, I don't agree with his stance on healthcare. I don't agree with much of his Republican values. I do appreciate the fact that he took the Steele dossier to Comey and that he has spoken out against some of the crazy **** that Trump has been doing. I also know that he is a politician from a different time, one that was less partisan and that often put country before party, who is trying to operate in the most highly partisan and toxic political environment in history. There are still a few old school politicians left, who can remember a time when the government wasn't in a complete partisan grid-lock.

When he ran against Obama, he said Obama was born in Hawaii, Obama was a great person, and that he was not an Arab like many Rep's said, and said people should not fear Obama. 

Also, he served in the military and was tortured for 5 years and held captive in Vietnam

He literally just put in his vote to strip millions of health care coverage.....
