John McCain is actually a great Republican and a great man!

When he ran against Obama, he said Obama was born in Hawaii, Obama was a great person, and that he was not an Arab like many Rep's said, and said people should not fear Obama. 

Also, he served in the military and was tortured for 5 years and held captive in Vietnam

sticking up? he just furrows his brow and is deeply troubled. when it comes to the actual vote he just toes the party line. Look at how he voted yesterday for reference, taking away the very same insurance from the people that paid for his eye surgery and cancer treatment.

I mean, that's good, but they're still discriminating against transgender people from joining the military. 

If someone's willing to fight for our country and possible make the ultimate sacrifice, so what if they're transgender? 

Ironically, today in 1948, President Truman gave an executive order to desegregate the community, and here we have Trump who is essentially discriminating against transgender people from entering the military.

His past actions in Vietnam were patriotic and respectable. 

Who cares? That's not something you get compliments for. The fact that is special for the GOP only show the GOP sucks, not that McCain is a great man. 

He literally got left a hospital and flew to Washington to vote to keep others out of a hospital. He's a war mongerer. You would think that a guy who was tortured for five years would know how awful war is and would try to prevent but there's never a war he doesn't like. He is a dispicable man who doesn't seem to understand empathy.

A patriot would not screw over millions by taking away the very same healthcare insurance that covered his blood clot surgery and brain cancer treatment.

I am indifferent to it. I don't root one way or another. You can't vote to throw people off healthcare tens of millions off their healthcare and then get sympathy when you get ill.

 People keep placing all the fault with Trump, but the majority of the votes are Republican party platforms. So the stuff McCain disagrees with Trump are actual non party issues. That's the problem with blaming Trump for everything. The truth is the man just signs papers without reading them drawn up by other republicans.

A great man? Ehh...I'm not sure I'd go that far

A war hero and a refreshing breath of sanity among the terrifyingly incompetent, greedy, and hateful GOP establishment? Yeah, for sure. He's respectable at least which is more than you can say for most of his peers.
