Lady Gaga, Her Team & the GP's Influence

Am I the only who thinks Gaga has become extremely distant from her fans as of late? If you look back to the early-ARTPOP era days, Gaga was constantly interacting with fans on LittleMonsters.com. Now, I personally don't know much about the website or what happened to it if something did, but specifically for the likes of Joanne and even, "The Cure," Gaga has been very hush-hush, which is normal for some artists (like Katy Perry for example) but very odd for Gaga. Am I the only one to feel this way? I won't lie, I have admittedly not been following her recently on social media but figure regardless she still hasn't returned to be as actively engaged as she might have once been. Perhaps after the tour starts she will become more engaged with her fans again, though I think after the unfortunate burn she received from ARTPOP, whose creative stages she was so open and passionate about, Gaga will never return to being as vulnerable. Joanne as a whole has been a lot more mature of an album cycle and public image for Gaga, especially with the SuperBowl and Budlight Dive Bar Shows than ARTPOP. While I'm glad she appears to be "happier," it does also come across as forced in some ways, like she's struggling to be the mass appeal, mature 30 year old the general public expects her to be by putting on a more matured and refined composure and attitude in interviews and press. Subject matter is something to take into consideration, but I just can't help but feel like Gaga's putting on an armor/dress like she's going onto the front lines of the battlefield of public ridicule and oppression, perhaps as a safety measure towards the longevity of her career? What do you guys think? Do you think her new management has something to do with it as well? I am not the most informed, but I do feel as if her new manager and choreographer, Richy are very much more so, "close-friends" as opposed to direction-orientated professionals. What are your guys and gals' thoughts, I will gladly read them?

(Sorry if this post is a lot longer than the regular, this is my first real, public post and I wanted to communicate my entire philosophy/perspective as well as ask others in case there was some agreement amongst us.)

She has a separate personal life now, and doesn't rely on fans for the contact she used to desire.

I think her going a little away from us was neccesary

She gave us so much the first years, that when she doesn't do as much (even tho she is doing a lot, just not as much as the first years of her career), fans complain she's lazy and that she doesn't care

Are we ever going to have that personal connection with Gaga back, or is she going to completely distance herself from us and treat us more and more like basic fans as opposed to close friends like she once did in the past, do you think? It's not her fan's fault for any shortcomings that may occur in her career, in fact, it's the opposite, if that were indeed the reasoning/case - not saying it is.

Do you think she will ever get back to doing more or is she in a different point in her life (similar to Lana Del Rey) where she only does what she wants and when she wants regardless?

Well, she gets so much hate online even from her fans, I don't think she will, but she's just as lovely when she's meeting fans on the streets, I guess she got tired of no human interaction and people, even fans, trowing hate her way via internet

Probably not, but I'm sure she'll keep a tight leash on us. When she's less busy, and the tour has her occupied for a year, she'll have more time to interact.

- she was dealing with the end of her engagement last year

- a lot of "fans" were giving her **** for joanne's sound when it came out.

- she's been deep in consistent rehearsals - super bowl, coachella, ASIB, now the tour

- She was busy filming ASIB this year

- She's in a new relationship and wants to spend time with him

- She's just older and changing

I definitely think she's not as "distant" as some people here are saying. I think she just doesn't feel the need to constantly interact online. At her shows is when she interacts the most with the fans.

Also: she brought a ton of fans to the Super Bowl and interacted with them at rehearsals. She didn't have to do that.

Gaga still has a lot to learn of being a pop star. She is unable to find any balance.

What happened? To be honest, I think Troy happened. Troy Carter was the entrepreneur who influenced Gaga into using social media. And that included, of course, being very very close to her fans. I mean, he co-founded Backplane, the company that owns Littlemonsters.com. He is a social media entrepreuneur, no question about it. The ARTPOP app was almost certainly his idea. I believe it was Troy Carter who taught Gaga to be closer to her fans in order to create a strong, faithful fanbase community, like the one she has nowadays.

Since Troy is gone, Gaga became more and more distant with time.

Of course, she has evolved and matured, and she is trying to grow as both a person and an artist. But she has been unable to do it in a subtle way. Hence how strange is it to compare old Gaga with new Gaga.

There's been countless examples of her love/connection to us post-Troy....

She is always been kind and close to her fans, but now she is coming stronger for her fans more as Mistress Gaga and less like Mother Monster, to educate and subjugate those spoiled and  ungrateful Little Monstrosities that bothered her these last years.

"Lord show me the way to cut through all this worn out leather"

she's moving on. you can say she's focusing on today's youth and their issues post-gay marriage, you can say she's moving on to new fans in different (now, mainstream) circles instead of outcasts. you can say she's settling down and becoming a more stable corporate entity vs. this throbbing mob of monsters ready to swallow up moma and flame torch anyone that looks at her wrong.

either way, she's moving on. She has defined joanne as Lady Gaga without the fame   I wondered if it was just an expression of departure from her previous persona/fan relationship or a true transition. The Cure suggests to me that she will continue on to new vistas and not return to a more familiar idea that we have of her. I just hope we can still hear her voice come through wherever she gets to. She is a gem and her heart inspired a generation.
