We were all in here during BTW era collecting our GCSE results, now we're here for beginning of AP getting our A Levels

Haha yes I remember this well! Her R1 big weekend performance was the day before my first May 2011 GCSE exam and it was French xD

Hoping she goes green again. Ive had radio on for 4 hours and they have played more than one song twice. THEY HAVENT PLAYED APPLAUSE YET.

I don't understand the mentality of the British radio stations... WHY does Capital insist on playing songs that aren't even in the top 40 anymore over songs that have just hit the top 10? Like they'll play Just Give Me a Reason once an hour even though P!nk's new single is True Love? So frustrating tbh :pukey:

And why do the general public love such basic songs   UGH im done  :blehga:

The more I think about, Emeli really might not do well with her new song. It's not a dance song and sounds very similar to her previous songs that didn't go to #1. The back beat on the verses is awful and the whole thing just doesn't sound like a track that young people will be into compared to the likes of Burn and Wake Me Up (and yes, Applause) are. I forgot that Emeli has never had a solo #1. I know that Lifted is actually Naughty Boy's song featuring her vocals, but as he's just the producer, this may as well be a solo song. When it's heard on the radio, people will assume it's her own song and as her album's sold nearly 2 million and she's had so much success already, they may give it a pass. Naughty Boy will now be in bigger demand because his lead single went to #1 and got the accolade of fastest selling single this year, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll have a follow up hit especially if it's just Emeli taking the wheel and he doesn't get acknowledgement. Emeli's only #1's are when she featured on someone else's song and performed on X Factor. Without that, consiering how much she's sold already, maybe this single won't take off. Oh, and the video has been out for 16 days and its only got 504,000 views despite its supposed high radio play.

I'm crossing my fingers that if Gaga doesn't achieve #1 this week that she could get there on Sunday or Monday and sustain a lead. Because she'd hopefully be the new leader, radio might favour her over Emeli. The fact she's already charting will hopefully give her an early advantage next week, like Ellie currently has.

My friend, who has literally despised Gaga since day one, just text me that he thinks Applause is 'decent' (very high commendation indeed)

This song has so much potential
