I think Can't Hold Us will be really big, it's not even playlisted on R1 yet and doesn't have a video. It's only playlisted on 1Xtra atm but I'd imagine it's getting plays on some other stations too.

I wish 22 was flopping like in the US

It just that in the US, unlike UK, she actually sold enough albums to put a dent in single sales.

In UK she has a toehold, but it's more as a singles artist.

JT spends a third week on top of the album chart holding off new entry from Imagine Dragons. He was ahead by only 3k copies.

Duke Dumont opened with 92k at #1 in the singles. Pink holding steady at #2. Mirrors is up one to #3, recovering from the #6 position in the mids on Wednesday. Ant & Dec down to #6 after their week at the top - novelty is definitely wearing off.

The charts are quite interesting at the moment. Not as cluttered with dance music as they used to be. Looks like the public really is starting to tire of it somewhat. Makes me fear for Gaga if she really is going to go hard with an EDM album. I just have to hope that it's so different and revolutionary that it rekindles peoples love for it again. It would be just like the thing if she releases the album just as urban music makes a comeback (I'm still not sure if her plans to have more urban and trap influence are genuine or just rumours). The charts are such a mish-mash of styles right now that it's as if the public are currently in a transitional phase and are looking for something different but aren't quite sure what that is yet. Nelly at #7? I feel like I've travelled back to 2003. I've been listening to his Nellyville album recently, remembering how Hot In Herre was once considered one of the raunchiest songs ever and Kelly Rowland was once considered relevant when she teamed up with him for Dilemma. Good times. Thank God that YouTube ensures that those epic urban years are never forgotten.
