Come on, Thrift Shop, hold off 1D for this week, so it might miss out on being #1! Don't mean to speak ill of charity singles, but they result in a lot of undeserved #1's - I wish more people would just donate the price of the single to the charity instead of boosting the careers of undeserving artists. Making any old cover song into a charity single is like emotional blackmail and a really cheap trick to get an easy #1. I can just imagine Simon Cowell tearing his hair out thinking: "1D are the biggest boyband in the world right now and they only have 2 UK #1 singles! Charity single urgently required!"

Oh, and JLS say that they'll definitely have a new album out this year before their UK tour starts in December. This will make it their fifth November release and fifth consecutive album since 2009 (and I thought Rihanna was bad). Marvin Humes stated: "We're working on our fifth album now and that's normally greatest hits territory for boybands but we don't feel we're ready yet." Yeah, keep telling yourself that, lads. Keep telling yourself that as you look at the #6 and #112 chart peaks of your last album's singles.

1D had a few hours of glory at #1 in all 3 countries, but it isn't lasting.

Meanwhile Explosions passes JT for #8, Go Ellie!

Well, they could still have their time to shine. They're performing the song on the BRITS tomorrow, the video will be released the next day and they're also performing it on the Comic Relief telethon on March 15th. Looks like it's far from over.

I expect Justin to snatch #1 after BRITS.

Lol I wouldn't bank on it, 1D have it in the bag. I'd like to think he could make it back into the top 5 but I'll just be happy to see him on my TV again.

How does it feel knowing I was right about Lana winning Best International Female, everyone? ;) I didn't watch the show, I just looked up the results later and I actually clapped my hands, wiggled my feet and did a fangirl squee and I'm so not that kinda person! Glad to see common sense prevailed at the BRITS committee and maybe the awards aren't such a joke now (maybe just half a joke). I'm tired of always making delusional predictions, so this gave me a massive boost! Just think, if International Album was still a category, I wonder if Lana would have been nominated and won for that too? It'll be great to see her album in stores with a "BRIT award winner" sticker on it and it'll hopefully give her amazing sales over the next few weeks, which will be increased even more when she tours the UK in May and the video for Cola gets released. If the album can chart in the top 100 for a year and a half straight, it'll be such a victory for decent music.
