But, like I said, it all depends on how her new music sounds. LG can obvs make blockbuster hits when she wants, but she chooses (which is good) to instead make riskier tracks in an effort to make them more memorable. Ke$ha said she'd do more rock-influenced music.. but from what we've heard, it just sounds like more of the same crap. Tbh, she can do anything with this era. I think this era she can go either way and still be successful. MTE

But, Beyonce also got a lot of critical backing for her album and is expected to come back with a string of big dance hits with her new upcoming record. It's about that balance, having hits the public will know you by but also showing the industry you're more than a radio staple. Lady Gaga and Beyonce definitely both understand that, while other artists don't. It's not by chance some acts debut at #1 and 500k+ copies first week, and others debut around 200-300k. That's a really big gap nowadays when album sales are dwindling. Ke$ha is a joke, I don't think anyone will ever take her seriously. (Although I did like Cannibal, the EP) Her image doesn't appeal to girls and gays as much as Gaga or Katy (and that's the key market). But she did write Britney biggest FF hit. I'm more interested to see what she'll do than Riri or Pink. Quote Ke$ha said she'd do more rock-influenced music.. but from what we've heard, it just sounds like more of the same crap. Probably rock-dance, which Gaga tried to make happen on BTW. Glad someone else is trying that instead of more hip-hop dance Edited June 22, 2012 by craig

KBreezy23 0
First post! Sorry, kinda excited, but I don't want Gaga to do what Katy does, where she just puts out an album of summer anthems. That got annoying real quick...First post! Sorry, kinda excited, but I don't want Gaga to do what Katy does, where she just puts out an album of summer anthems. That got annoying real quick... Welcome! Thank you!! And, I read today that Gaga's new single will sound nothing like anything we've heard from her before, which leads me to believe it could be slowed down a bit as opposed to a big dance hit. heavymlover 340
Not interested in Kesha nor Christina new albums. I'm here for P!nk and Gaga. And I heard Missy Elliot is working on something: http://www.metacriti...e?view=detailed It's been a long time since we saw her slaying ps. I just saw The Veronicas is working on something. Let's see if they were only one hit wonder or if they come with something interesting. Edited June 22, 2012 by heavymlover
MarryTheKnight 2,181
If what Troy implied and "insiders" say is true it looks like Gaga is making unique yet radio friendly music (similar to TFM) so it looks like this era will probably have good public and Top 40 Radio perception You live and die by Top 40 Radio. Very very true words. Do you guys think Gaga will stick with Interscope after 3 more albums or join another label or create her own? (All of the above info about Troy and Gaga's contract with Interscope is in Americano's thread from today, if you didnt read it) Edited June 22, 2012 by MarryTheKnight

But look at how successful Adele was with her ballads. And I think that if she did something different like that, people would REALLY pay attention. Then when she does release a huge dance hit, it'll be really popular.
