Hip-Hop is now the most dominant music genre in America

Did we really need this confirmation though since everyone knew this thanks to Spotify's affect on the H100 and more every other song is a mediocre contemporary hip-hop song where everyone sounds like damn Future 💀.

Glad I ain't from the US because the UK music scene is dominated by House/R&B music mostly which is much better than the garbage in the US.

Off topic: it's ironic how racist many Americans are but how much they love black majority genres it seems

Most of the hip hop tracks on the charts are annoyingly trash.

Pure RnB is my thing.....

but I have to say that Hiphop is the Streaming Power that feeds the international charts.

I can see Gaga playing with RnB /HipHop again in a more complete work.

Pop music feels so indie now...what am in saying? :saladga:

Well I don't blame people on one hand...pop music has been declining quality wise since 2012...people naturally then started to move away from pop, so hip-hop/r&b which used to be simple features on pop songs are now having their exposure taken in full force.

Honestly, if pop music was BETTER it would be the dominant genre...this just proves pop radio SUCKS right now and has been for many years

I think this will only make Gaga stay away from urban music...she always does the opposite as an artist

We been knew. :laughga:

I love hip-hop and R&B. It's just too diverse nowadays to where there are hardly any authentic, interesting, and/or talented artists. A lot of it is just blatant........garbage. :saladga:

That's why I'm into indie music now :laughga:

Call me racist, call me close minded, "excuse me no" me, but most of Hip Hop/Rap music is not my thing.

It's not mine either. It has never and WILL NEVER be my thing. I was devastated when trap hop and R&B started making  comeback. But what can we do? We need someone to shove their way into the industry and change the face of music again.

can't you guys just accept the fact that Hip-Hop is popular?

It replaced Rock and not Pop like most people including me thought but it's still a shame

yeah so many young trump supporters love hip hop not at all realizing that all the people that they look up to would never consider voting for him.

It always seems to be a cycle

late 90's/very early 2000's were very dance/pop

early 2000's/mid 2000's were rock/acoustic

mid 2000's/late 2000's were RnB/Hip Hop

late 2000's/early 2010's were dance pop

early 2010's/mid 2010's were rock/acoustic

Mid 2010's to now - Rnb/Hip Hop
