I've always thought that the album was too experimental for the GP, just like I've thought that about Joanne.. both G.U.Y. and Perfect Illusion were too experimental for their own good, so didn't spend much time at all on the radio. But when Gaga wants to, she can produce songs to appeal to the GP à la Applause, Do What U Want, The Cure. I think we would've gotten more authentic and well done songs and we would've gotten more out of the era. An album doesnt need to be GP friendly to smash and experimental album can do really well if done correctly and i think the original ARTPOP would've done that "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."
