And Madonna also won a Golden Globe for this role.

I mean, I think that's the general consensus. I just wish she wasn't so smug and condescending toward fellow artists (yes I'm mentioning the modern day).

Women like Celine Dion and Bette Midler are legends in their own right and wield their status with more grace and tact. After all these years I think Madonna still feels insecure, thus her snide behavior. I feel like Midler and Dion really don't give a damn about anyone's opinion, and just do their own thing without commenting on contemporaries, comfortable in their abilities and what they've accomplished.

PS: When you have a song called "Bitch I'm Madonna" it kind of screams insecurity loud and clear. Like yeah girl, duh! Everyone knows who you are! You don't have to remind us lol (it was a terrible song too).:toofunny:

Tours are certainly good for remembering the old times:sure:

However they hardly prove if an artist is still relevant

If the artist wasn't relevant, then tour total gross would show otherwise.

Times have changed. Its more difficult to score a number 1 hit than it was when Madonna was still popular. You cant compare the times like you did.:awkney:

Actually it was a lot harder to score a #1 hit back in the 80s and 90s.

People had to get their ass up and go to the store and buy the damn record.

Today you can stream and download any track just with one click.

I mean I'm pretty sure Madonna and Michael Jackson made MTV popular or no one would've tuned in to it

And both Madonna and MJ had to struggle so much because MTV would try to chip at it and strip their works off to fit a certain audience. Popstars today should be thankful everyday that these two legends fought for their work to be distributed everywhere today.

Who?:oprah:

Your personal lack of knowledge on pop culture doesn't determine anyone's relevance or popularity.

Bellatrix

Haters are still here trying to deny her success, relevance and impact I see. I feel sorry for them if their lives are that empty :reductive:

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
