I skimmed through some of the Mario Kart 8 thread and I felt so emotional and nostalgic

I've added everyone I could've on my Switch friend list through the Nintendo account Wii U connection thing but that doesn't reveal friend codes  If you have a Switch could you please post your friend code?  Hope everyone's doing well and having fun regardless of what you're playing or doing

Enough time has passed that I can say unequivocally it's my favorite Mario Kart. Though, I never played the 3DS one.

Mario Kart Wii is the absolute worst. Super Mario Kart is a fun nostalgia trip but if I'm gonna play a Mode 7 racing game it's gonna be F-Zero. The rest are all kinda equal in my eyes.

But MK8 stands above. It's HD. Has my favorite old and new tracks. The sense of speed at 150cc is better than any other MK. And it's the game Nintendo finally got online right.

I would say it was my favourite if they didn't screw up the battle system  Which is why I think Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is possibly my favourite because it got everything right. I haven't played the SNES, Gameboy Advance, and DS versions  But I really loved Mario Kart Wii too, although it was a bit too chaotic and unfair at times but that thickened my skin slightly

Mario Kart 64 holds a very special place in my heart though because it was the first one and me and my brother and sisters would all play it together a lot  The soundtrack was so good and it brings back good memories of such a wonderful time  Double Dash was great too and a pretty funky mechanic, still hope they'll revisit special items for characters. 

One thing with Mario Kart 8 on Wii U is that I can never forget how it totally blew me away when I turned it on. It was simply so stunning, I remember freaking out at how beautiful it was without even caring about the gameplay. The little puffs of smoke and fire coming out of the exhaust and the retro tracks turned gorgeous and just everything, no other Mario Kart has smacked me senseless like that

Right, I was counting MK8 Wii U and Deluxe in the same tier/generation, but Deluxe is clearly the superior package.

The N64 made for some of the best multiplayer experiences of my childhood. MK64, Starfox, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark.

Thinking about my dumb cousin who would roll around as Oddjob in Goldeneye and slap you to death still infuriates me. NO PLAYING AS ODDJOB should be a house rule in all Goldeneye multiplayer matches.

That's alright, you're more than welcome to come whenever you're available  I've got an extremely hectic month ahead of me so I'm hoping I'm not gonna be that active, for my own good  Gonna try to stay off of the Switch for the next few weeks outside of this weekend's Splatfest

YES omg Goldeneye 64  And the frantic golden gun matches as well because of the 1 shot kill thing  The game after that, The World is Not Enough, was pretty awesome too.

I kinda hope they remake Wave Race in HD or make a new Wave Race or something. That was so awesome on N64 and now that we have graphics at hand that can make water and whales/dolphins look beautiful it'd be stunning

A new Wave Race would be cool, but I swear, if there's a new Wave Race before there's a new F-Zero, I WILL cry.

I've only played F-Zero on the N64  We didn't own that game actually, I only played it a few times at a family friend's

It's so good!  I'm so overwhelmed with feelings I'm gonna load it up right now on the VC.
