theahsfan 13,822
I mean, I still can't believe that someone with iconic hits like California Gurls, Roar and Dark Horse could topple off the charts so easily in just like 3-4 weeks. How did it happen? I know she's one of the worst singers out there but that was never a problem before. Was it promo? Mehhh I doubt it because she had loads of promo. What do you think? At least she's releasing music to her fans. Let's not treat her how the Kats treated Gaga during ARTPOP. “For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. VasilisVas 5,164
Everyone hated when Gaga was called a flop during ARTPOP, so why is it ok to do it for Katy? One bad era doesn't mean her entire career is over.
Lanius 1,055
It's hard to believe that somebody Who used to have number 1 smashes and sell 500k singles in a week can't even go top 10 on iTunes or top 40 on the hot 100 Honestly the signs were kinda there during Prism. Roar and Dark Horse were the only true hits. Birthday, This is How we do, and that other song kinda flopped for her standards. But I never imagined she flop this hard. Anderson123 38,288
Well it happens to most artists some day. Once you're on top there's nothing more but to go down. That and Dr. Luke's departure as his executive producer.
Talent 9,333
It feels SURREAL. Like something from another galaxy. In my opinion, it was a combination of everything. Even her SuperBowl and how childish it was. But I guess she'll rebound. 🔵 - Banned because I quoted a stupid meme. Literally. So, yeah.
FATCAT 60,011
She didn't really "flop" though, it was just super messy. Bon Apple Tea has almost 200k views on YT, something even Joanne couldn't reach. Sales for the album are weak, and her singles sales were weak, but She didn't do that bad. This kitten over here (meow)
n0ne 13,105
I wouldn't call any of those hits you listed iconic and she is far from being the worst singer. But yeah I was shocked she flopped so hard this era. Especially coming from Prism era and Witness being a really good album imo. "My people… need to let our bitchiness out. REALITY 76,325
Well first of all, she's not "one of the worst singers out there". I think she has a pretty good voice, and I think it works well with what she does. Secondly, to your point, I think—and this isn't necessarily my opinion, this is what I've observed and heard from people—that people think that she's "trying to hard". I feel bad for her though. Clearly there's something going on and even though this may be just another era for her, you can tell something's taking a toll on her. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎

JesseBabe 837
Didn't half of this site pray for this to happen and now that it did everyone is like "OMG HOW!?" Lol. Idk, I think for me the material wasn't really there and then she went around and tried to be so woke about social issues yet continue to make questionable decisions that otherwise had me thinking she really doesn't know what she's talking about. In my opinion, it was a combination of everything. Even her SuperBowl and how childish it was. I think it's mostly because she's about to be 33. Singing about trash bags, kissing girls and fireworks was cute at 26. But at 33 she comes off like she's desperately trying to appeal to the kids and most people find her uncool. Her sex appeal was a big part of her image too. but since our society discard women after they turn 30 and she cut her hair people don't find her hot anymore. She's more like that mom from mean girls who lives vicariously through her daughters. Oh yeah, Her going to so hard for Hillary turned A LOT of people off. I've seen so many people drag her for being a Hillary supporter.
