I agree with you that comparing talents is subjective. But why then did you compare Gaga to Thom York and Beyonce? Anyways, I think her versatility is actually a good thing. Its what allowed her to come back from the negative press in the ARTPOP era and what has allowed her to last all these years.

Because her brand is too elusive. She can't decide what she wants to convey with her artistry. You claimed she is one of the greatest of all time, and thats just not true when she is just trying out everything and ends up being good at them.

I said she is one of the most talented  in the sense that she obviously has big natural talent. More natural talent than most artists. And I think that you are talking about her potential. In which case yes, unlike Thome Yorke and Beyonce, she has not reached her full potential.

Of all time I'm not sure  That's a bold claim. 

I'm going to preface my argument with this: Gaga is my favourite artist and she is supremely talented - my point is that it's very hard to judge the most talented and it seems impossible to judge

There have been many other music artists in history that have been more skilled musically, more complex with the music they have made in ways that surpass Gaga in a musical sense.

And with so many artists you could say "oh, well but they don't dance" but Gaga's ability as a dancer isn't really super remarkable... She is fine, but it's something new to her and it's obvious. Compare that to an artist whose musical ability and prowess overtakes Gaga and you think "Well, so what if Gaga can dance better? The artist's musical prowess exceeds both Gaga's musical talent and her choreography."

To make a more solid example, you bring acting into this (I'm not sure why, I think you are better leaving it to 'musical' artist and not bring more stuff into this). Meryl Streep is regarded as one of the most talented actors of all time. 

Her ability as an actor far exceeds that of Gaga, is she less of a talent because she can't write a song like Gaga? I'd argue that Meryl Streep's ability as an actor and a performer is so deep, so much more technical and emotional than Gaga and requires so much work that it's impossible to claim Gaga is more talented simply because Gaga can also write a song and/or dance.

You're argument seems to play more on the idea that she is one of the most 'diverse' talents - not one the most gifted or proficient artists.

She is not the only diverse talents out there even today though... What of EGOT winners like Barbara Streisand? She is an accomplished singer, performer and actor.

What of artists like Cher? She had her variety show, is an actress, singer:

 

What of artists like P!nk? She writes songs, dances, sings, plays instruments:

Like I said Gaga is an incredible talent and I think she brings something unique and interesting to the table. I think she is comparable with other contemporary artists talent wise though - and I don't think that's a bad thing in any shape either.

I think it's impossible to try and determine who is the most talented or one of the most talented of all time... I think we can just appreciate when somebody has great talent and then let their work speak for itself.
