Nicole Schnezier REPLACING Fergie in the Black Eyed Peas

The female lead in BEP was always a temporary job, as long as Fergie wanted to be there she was there, now she's on hiatus, but they need to continue to work so they replaced her for the upcoming era, she's still part of the band..

look at no doubt, gwen is still the lead but since she focused on her solo album they created a new band with a new vocalist..

Nicole is really talented and she has recorded a lot of solid material over the years. I never understood why the U.S. just never embraced her as a solo artist.

If Fergie left and wants to focus on her solo career, that's totally fine. Nicole Scherzinger is an amazing singer, better than most of our faves technique wise (yes, probably incl. Gaga, don't come for me  ) and she has done well in group settings before (Pussycat Dolls). I'm not sure off the top of my head how their voices might mix, but If they are happy with this, I am happy for them.

Black Eyed Peas served iconic, timeless music when they were big, Ive always wanted them to come back in a big way, but figured Fergie's solo career was preventing it  

Personally, I think Fergie's tone is way more unique and fitting of their music, but Nicole might kill it. I'll look out for them in the future.

No big deal,  before Fergie there was Kim Hill anyway, and now Fergie just pass the torch to another vocalist. BEP is will.i.am, appl.de.ap and Taboo, through and through. People need to realise that first and foremost.

OT: Nicole was supposed to be the original girl in BEP, and it's SCHERZINGER. She is an amazing singer, her albums are good and the PCD are iconic. Please anyone call me when Fergie can sing Ave Maria.
