Her voice is as powerful as it was over a decade ago.

She's had a phase where it wasn't up to par to her old performances.. + lots of articles and videos about it. I guess she rested and worked on her technique. Good for her.

It was early in the morning and it's quite clear she didn't warm up properly. She has had performances like this throughout her entire career. It's not a recent problem. Back when she first debuted her voice was cracking and struggling throughout the entire of Genie in a Bottle during a live performance.

Why did she even perform Beautiful when she was supposed to be promoting NEW music? What kind of flop album campaign was that supposed to be?

My favorite at this moment of my life is Lana, her voice is very beautiful and haunting.

If we go to Gaga I must confess that Gaga's voice is not so beautiful in many songs to my ears.. (please don't eat me, I'm not declaring anything, it's just my reaction when I hear something and I can't control it)

 

Gaga has incredible technique and versatility...

 

But many fans in this forum exxagerate and put her on a pedestal way higher than she is tho

Mariah Carey in her prime ie 1990-1998 is unbeatable. Her voice changes/evolved throughout the years and that is reflected in each of her albums; Butterfly album was built on her deteriorating vocal nodules  and sounded unlike anyone else.

I also love the jazz greats; Nina Simone(soul!), Ella Fitzgerald(tone!) particularly  

Lauryn Hill has amazing pipes and a buttery tone. Listen to Miseducation (song not the album) 

Christina has an amazing instrument but too shouty for my liking. When she doesn't scream, she's amazing. What she lacks in technique she makes up with pure talent.

This is true yes, I love the sound of music tribute and it shows her good abilities.. but for example on Joanne there are many songs where her voice is not that great compare to old songs..

Back to Xtina, I just love how in Lady Marmalade they went from the lowest voice to the highest one which is Xtina and she ended it with a bang.. this song really shows how she can outshine many artists with her voice..
